A wonderful early childhood educator friend of mine from New Zealand who's worked with young children for decades is going to host a workshop tomorrow and Thursday in Sheung Wan, called "How to get your kids to cooperate". You will learn RIE-inspired techniques to talk to your child, like acknowledging his feelings while setting firm boundaries.

Caregivers Workshop: How to Get Kids to Cooperate
Is "NO!" your toddler's default response? Does simple things like getting a jacket on your toddler turn into a power struggle?
Come learn a handy set of RIE-inspired techniques you can use on your toddler that will firmly, but gently, get their cooperation while still allowing them the autonomy they crave by acknowledging the often volatile emotions toddlers have.
We will cover how to get children's attention, make yourself clear, listen to them, set limits, and offer choices, and practice these techniques via role-play and discussion. If you are not familiar with RIE, it is a mindful, respectful way of parenting that inspires confidence and independence in young children.
Led by an New Zealand early childhood educator and RIE expert with decades of experience educating young children and working with caregivers, this 120-minute workshop will offer handouts, role-playing, discussion, and Q&A. Light refreshments will be offered.
Date: Wednesday Feb 26th, 5:30-7:30pm & Thursday Feb 27th, 5:30-7:30 pm
Location: 1/F Sing Kui Commercial Building, No. 27 Des Voeux Road West, Sheung Wan (MTR Exit C)
Cost: $850/person and $150 for each additional family member
