Ointment for bug bites?

Swoon

Can anyone recommend an non-prescription ointment for toddlers to minimize itching after being bitten by mosquitoes? Preferably something more natural, but which works well. I don't want to use the adult stuff that numbs bites because it smells really high in chemicals and I'm afraid our son might get it in his eyes or mouth.

Also, is there a toddler insect repellant that works well? I got the "Mike Mozzie" spray from Bumps to Babes but he still was bitten silly.

Hello Bzee,

How old is your boy? For mosquito bites, I use "mopiko" for all my children, the youngest being 16 mths. I got it from Watsons. Hope you don't find it too strong. My children also use "Mike Mozzie". So far no serious mosquitoe bites :-P I do spray a lot though. 3-4 sprays on each limd :-P I guess some ppl are simply more prone to mosquite bites.

I Asked Our Pediatrician To Recommend A Repellant. She Said Only Those With Deet Really Work. And She Recommended Mopiko For After-bites.
