Oct Buddies Weekly Lunches

Hi all,
Since there hasn't been much response to the play for Friday i have made other plans. I am keen to meet up again for a lunch though.
Have a lovely weekend.

Hi everyone,

sorry for the late reply, sometimes I have problems logging in (anyone else with the same problem?) I'm going to the play sat 4pm. The shows on fri and sat evenings were already sold out last week. Anyone interested for 4pm sat?

=)

Hi Watermelon,

I'm afraid I can't make the play this afternoon. I've had a really busy week and I'm so tired. Fell asleep on the sofa yesterday and was late for my class!! This heat is getting to me so going to cool off today with a swim.

Enjoy the play!

Hi Everyone,

How about lunch this week at CRU on Staunton st in Soho?
This Friday 12.30.
It is a little further along Stauntons,on the left past Peel st if you are walking from the escalator.
Great lunch menu, similar to Jaspas.

If anyone would prefer a different day let me know, I keep choosing Fridays as I know it works for a few.
Do we have enough that might be interested in a weekend or an evening?

Cheers,

Matty:burnout:

Hi Matty,

I can't make it this week as I am off to Shanghai for a long weekend. Hope to make it next time. Evenings are good for me too but weekends I normally stay in Clear Water Bay.

Have a good lunch

Hi Everyone,

I'm a Newbie to this forum and am delighted to see that there are so many October Mummies To Be!! My due date is 23 October, this is my first baby and I have been through all the same things that everyone has been going through, phew!!

I'm anxious to meet up with you all for idle chit chat and to share experiences.

I haven't felt my little-one kick for the last week now and am getting a little concerned, is this normal??

Best
Little-Bub

Hi all! It's been a whirlwind these last few weeks. I've been so busy that I forget that I am pregnant sometimes.

Is anyone keen for lunch or coffee this Friday (26 May)?

Hi Everyone,

Welcome Little Bub.

How was your toga party Bets? Don't worry I've forgotten how many weeks pregnant I am {numbers are not my thing!!!}.
I am working in Central on Friday so would love to catch up for lunch, with whoever is free.

Where shall we meet?

Hi Everyone,
I'm also new to this forum and similar to Little Bub my due is October 24. However, I currently am in the US and expect to move to HK sometime in July. I hope I can meet up with some moms for lunch then.

Where are new mommy's living? I've heard a lot about Discovery Bay and am focusing on renting there. Does any one have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Welcome Little-Bub and SyL

I would love to meet you Bets and gidget but my brother-in-law is visiting and am a bit tied up for the next week. I had my 19 week scan today which was really exciting although we were disappointed to see that baby was too shy to reveal its sex : (
Too impatient to wait so going to see Dr Dawkins on Monday and hope he can find out for us! Feel baby kicking everyday now which is really fun but I don't know if I'll be saying the same when the karate practise keeps me up at night!!

Hope you are all well,

Sunrays

Hi Everyone,

I've been out of HK for the last week, so a bit disorganised with the lunches!

Still keen for a lunch in Central tomorrow?
We could do a pub lunch in Lan Kwai Fong, maybe Bulldogs 12.30 ?

Let me know,

Cheers,
Matty.:bighug

Welcome Syl,
Good luck with your move to Hong Kong.
Are you doing a reccie here first to look around? Discovery Bay is great for families, but doesn't suit everyone becuase of the commute.

Hope you get to see bubbas sex on Monday Sunrays, sounds like you have a real live wire!

Matty I'm good for the Bulldogs at 12:30. I won't be able to check in here again before tomorrow, so I'll see you there {and you too Bets if you are still up for it!}

:burnout:

Thank you for the welcome Sunrays.

Gidget: My husband will have to make the commute to Central and I don't know how he'll feel after a few months of making the commute...so we definitely have to think about this. What's the closest hospital to Discovery Bay? I hear good things about Matilda and will definitely check that out, but I fear it may be too far of a commute?

SyL

Hi SyL,
I can highly recommend Doscovery Bay. I have lived there for nearly 4 years and haven't regretted it at all.
It's really not that much of a commute. I work in Pok Fu Lam and travel from DB every day. It's so convenient and hassle-free only 25 mins. in the ferry. There's no need to ever worry about traffic jams.
It's a great place to bring up kids. Everyone's got them there, that's why it's also referred to as 'Delivery Bay'. The air is much cleaner and there's heaps of room for kids to run around!
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hello there,

baby kicking

Hi all,
It's been a cuple of weeks since my last post. I wanted to let you know too that i have had kicking too, it started last Tuesday at 21 weeks and was so amazing. Had flutters before but they are definitely getting stronger. I also experimented-with caffeine. Had too much tea one afternoon (High tea at Penninsula-wonderful, if you've never been) and he kicked all night long. Cola also does it.
See you all soon for a lunch...
