Obtaining a foreign domestic helper visa who is already in Hong Kong

Hi everyone
My husband and I want to employ a Filipino domestic helper who is already in HK on a tourist visa. The forms I have read show that it takes up to six weeks to obtain and from country of origin.
I am starting work in a couple of weeks and really want all the paperwork and her visa sorted before that.
She previously worked for a family friend overseas so I am keen to employ her as she will be looking after our son.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately you need to use an agency and it will take 6 weeks to process her papers. You can include a letter to Immigration n ask them to expedite the application and hopefully it will be a bit faster. Also the Helper cannot be in HK while her papers are being processed. She is supposed to go home. They used to also wait in Macau but I believe that it's no longer permitted. Best to speak to agency.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. We found an agency today so fingers crossed all will work out eventually.
