Just wondering. I went to an obsetrician in Central for the first time yesterday. We paid the bill by credit card, but when we got home we found that we were charged an extra HK$20. When we called the office to enquire, we were told that there is an extra charge if we pay by credit card. The entire bill came to HK$2000+. We have a published list of charges ( we got it afterwards as an FYI) and there was no mention of this additional fee, nor was there any sign at the cashier's counter. I know small shops sometimes charge extra for credit card payment, but I've never come across a large doctors' practice that charges extra for credit card payment. They won't give us our money back unless we go back to the office and redo the transaction with cash. So I'm thinking twice about continuing with this practice. Has anyone else had this experience with other offices?
