Hi,

Does anyone has experience delivering in ST Paul's hospital, Causeway Bay? Appreciate if you could recommend a good gentle gynae preferably pro natural birth and share how was your birthing experience and care in the hospital.

This would be my first time delivering in Hk. Any advise or sharing will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

pollyrafiq just delivered at St Pauls hospital.

polly, can you share your experience.

Hello Slin, I think I might be abLe to share with you my 5 days of stay at the St Paul Hospital.

Rani, thanks for the redirection of request.

I was admitted to the hospital 10 days than the scheduled c-section. The water broke and I rushed to the hospital, the staff at the customer service react promptly and arranged with the maternity ward without delay, baby monitor with ecg heart rate and the frequency of contraction and contacted my OB doctor.

I was scheduled the next available emergency c-section and the entire process was smooth and as I stayed in the semi-private room so decent space and privacy in the ward.

General feeling of the staff and nurse were great and the positive influence and encouragement made my pain of wound heal faster than I was expected.

pollyrafiq - thanks for sharing your positive experience in St. Paul. Relieved to hear the hospital care was gd, are they bf friendly as well? Also if u don't mind, can u share who is your doc?

Also from what I read so far, it seems like most mommies spent 3-5 days in hospital after delivery. Is that due to the "packages" sold by doc or coincidentally due to medical condition?

I delivered my firstborn in my home country via natural birth. We were both discharged the very next day after my OB and her pead did their check ups.

Hello Slin,

My OB doctor is Dr. Steven Lo Yue Fan, who is my brother's friend who is also a doctor. For natural birth at St Paul will be 3 days 2 nights while C-section will be 5 days 4 nights, if you stay at the Luxury Room which is the Private Room then baby will be on request to send to your room to breast feed or viewing purpose, they have a sofa allow one person to stay over night. For other category of room, bf will be at the end of the hallway and can go anytime you want.

Good luck and hope you have a smooth delivery and pleasant stay at St Paul.

Thanks. We just found out our gynae delivers in St Paul's too ;)

Been reading thru the older posts here and in asiaxpat. It seems like St Paul is not really a bf friendly hospital. What about Adventist? Any sharings?

Who was your gynae slin?

We have seen Dr. Mok and were wondering if anyone here has any experience with him yet?
