OB recommendation - progesterone?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend an OB who is very diligent and cautious? I have had a few miscarriages while in Hong Kong and I haven't been thrilled with the care I have received.

I am in the very early stages of pregnancy and was put on progesterone by my OB in the US, who told me I should be monitored for the first trimester. When I asked my doctor here about it - she said they just take everyone off at 10 weeks rather than subjecting patients to blood tests. That might be perfectly fine for some people, but I am concerned about the 'one size fits all' mentality, particularly given my history.

Thanks for any advice you might have for me!

See Dr Patrick Chan. He's always been on the more cautious side with me - I have only one ovary (so low in progesterone to start with) and I also had one miscarriage. He had me on progesterone twice a day during the first 2-3 months. In additional, I saw him every 2-3 weeks during the first trimester just to monitor things more closely. By the time I was taken off the progesterone I was well into my 2nd trimester. He's overall a wonderful OB - very patient and caring. I recommend him to everyone I know. The only thing is that I heard for a little while he wasn't taking any new patients since he was so overly booked but that was about 5 months ago.
