Hi Ladies,

My hubby & I just arrived in HK. We have been married for 5 years & 2 years of trying. I used to be stressed at work & I travel around the globe 5 to 6 times a year & when at home i am on the road most of the time.

We both went for a thorough check up in Europe, UK & Dubai. We are both well & healthy.

Now that i don't work & just relaxing at home, i have this weird feelings of wanting to have a baby as soon as possible. My husband is very supportine & keeps on telling me to just relax & in GOD's time hopefully we will have a little one.

I am taking folic acid, vitamin E & Calcium. Now, i am looking for a good OB or Specialist who can guide & monitor me (as well as my husband if necessary).

I'm 36 & becoming paranoid & depress sometimes:-(

Please help.

thanks

don't be paranoid. your hubby is right, when a new life will arrive, it will. esp. now that you're more relaxed & enjoying life, it'll be a lot easier. listen to your body, learn about your menstrual cycle. you'll know when you're most fertile... you'll feel sexy & your husband can smell it.

meanwhile, as for choosing an ob, i think first you need to know what kind of ob you want. man/woman? efficient? business-like or more caring? if you do get pregnant, do you have a hospital that you prefer? cos in hk, private obs go to their hospital of choice. when you find an ob, make sure he/she goes delivers at the hospital you want. my personal preference is the Matilda. i'm chinese, so i wanted a chinese lady ob, so i chose dr. louisa lam. she's very motherly, and i like her very much, although her clinics visit are long waits, cos she takes time talking to each patient.

then i heard a lot of ppl here praise Sally Ferguson. i've never met her, but i read a lot about her here.

good luck! & enjoy your leisurely life.

Hi joannek,

Thanks a lot for the enlightenment. I wanted an OB who cares & whom i can relate with, i hope i can find one in HK. With regards to delivery (in case i get pregnant) i might deliver here or maybe go back to Europe.

I will check with drs. lam & fergusson.

Thanks a lot.

I am 37, expecting my first baby in a couple of months. I totally recommend Dr. Derek Lo who helped us get pregnant within a few months. He is a really wonderful person and gives all the time you need in appointments so that you are never made to feel like you are part of a conveyor belt of patients to be dealt with and shown the door like in some other clinics. And he inspires a lot of trust and confidence. We tried on our own unsucessfully to conceive for close to 18 months and I only wish I had sought medical help earlier. Good Luck!

Wow, congratulations. I am trying to get an appointment with Dr. Lo

Thanks for the insights.

Jojo: How did he help you getting pregant? With hormones you mean or helping you calculate your fertile days or ultrasound? Or something else?
I had 2 miscarriages since september and I want to get pregnant again. I am so worried it will take a long time.
