Nov/Dec 06 Mums to meet

Hello ladies,

My Dr. said that if my twins continue as well as they are, I should expect to give birth 37/38 weeks... but to be prepared for earlier (35/36) because they are identical. I would be interested in hearing your Dr.s opinions on fraternal/identical (2 sacs, 1 placenta) due dates... But, I agree, if they are healthy and can hang in there until 38 weeks, it is better for them.

Have either of you been told that you will definitely have a c-section? or are your Dr.s saying that you can wait until it gets closer to the EDD?

Do either of you have Dr. Ferguson? I thought someone in our group did, I just can't remember... pregnancy brain...

No, Dr Ferguson is not my dr. My dr said natural birth is still an option but that we should know better as we get closer to the due date.
 
I'm not either, I'm seeing Dr. Stevenson.

He mentioned C-section to me and that looks like the plan - probably because of the complications I had in the first trimester. Natural or C - both make me nervous!

Hi Rach I will need to bring my little one along as still waiting for helper to come (if one ever turns up!). Hope he will be napping during that time but his routine is still rather erratic so one can never be sure.

Great! I am looking forward to it. I have some friends in HK but noone is pregnant and I am sure I have been boring them to tears already with my baby-giving birth talk. It would be so nice to meet a couple of people in the same situation.

Hello Amelie and Jenni! Congrats on your pregnancies! I look forward to meeting you as well.

My 38 week due date is November 18th! I am expecting identical twins so the doctor said that is as late as I will be allowed to go... and most likely earlier.

Oh, and for the other twin mamas to be, I just read a new report from the American Medical Association stating that they have been researching twin births over the past many years and they have found that there is no difference in health for twins born at 36 weeks to 40 weeks... that they are all equally as healthy whether they are born at 36, 37, 38... up to 40 weeks, BUT that twins should not be allowed to go beyond 40 weeks because that is when they did find many health problems arising. It makes me feel better to know that if they come at 36 weeks instead of 38 weeks, that they will be just as happy and healthy. :)

We are all getting so close to "that time". How wonderful.

Hi

Great to have some new mums to be to join us - we are getting quite a big group (literally ha ha).

I will book for 7 people for Tuesday at Thai Basil, pacific place. Let me know if there is anyone else so far I have Jenni, Amelie, Annie (A&A), Somebody Famous, SF Gal, slamdunk and me! I will book under my name Rachael but I guess we are easy to spot for Jenni and Amelie.
