my daughter is the same age as carang's son. will be 2 in 2 wks. she STILL wakes up for milk once or twice. I'm fine with her drinking it once at around midnight, cos she only drinks milk at bedtime, but tried to give water the 2nd time (usually at 3am). i also tried carang's method of not giving her & let her cry (a little) when the crying escalates, we give it to her (we don't want her to wake up too much cos then it'll take 1-2 hrs to put her back to sleep, no one wants to do that in the middle fo the night!). sometimes, we just go "sh... sleep" & she falls back to sleep. sometimes she'd wake up every 5 mins, crying for milk, then we give it to her. it depends on how well she eats during the day. if she eats well, just take milk once at around midnight. if she didn't eat well then again at around 3am.
(she eats dinner between 6-7pm, and sleeps at 8, bedtime milk - 8oz. we used to let her eat between 5-6pm, & sleeps at 7.30, but she'd wake up 3 times for milk, so we moved dinner time 1 hr late & seem to be better, we also offer snacks/fruits between 7-8, so hopefully she gets pretty full)
it'll be neat to know besides our 3 kids who else's 2 yr old still wake up for milk at night.......
