Hello

can anybody recomend a night doula in hong kong please? I saw a post refering to this but from 3 years ago

The post said: '' Ihave a night-time cantonese lady helper to recommand. When i'm sleeping at night, she wil help me to look after my new born baby. She came to my house at 9:00p.m until 8:00a.m in the morning.''

I know of this concept of doula from Spain (where I come from) and used it for my daughter and would like to have the same for my second child.

I hired a night nurse for the first couple of weeks after my daughter was born. Not cheap though - about 1500 HK / night. She comes at 9 and leaves at 7 the next morning and can work 7 days / week. The service is run by a midwife that use to work at Matilda. The only problem that I see is a possible communication issue. I referred a good friend of mine to them and she ended up not using them as the owner of the service was concerned that her night nurses wouldn't be able to communicate with my friend well enough she they only speak limited English and my friend does not speak Cantonese or Mandarin. Anyways, PM me if you are interested in getting the number to the service.

I am a western night doula, normally work shift from 9/10pm till 7am. I help with the routine. I am French and UK trained. I have been working in HK for the past 16 years and have lots of references. ( permanent ID so legally allowed to work).I have experience with single babies and twins.

Hi, Have you heard of In Safe Hands, run by Sue? Its an agency which provides European Night Nannies. They can probably help you. I sometimes work through this agency and it is very good.
