Nice Xmas tree ornaments - where?

I want to buy a single xmas tree ornament to symbolize my baby`s first Christmas. Has anyone seen where they have nice tree ornaments? The kind that is just sold on its own - not in a pack.
If they have ones around that say `Baby`s 1st xmas` or something like that, that`d be really nice.
Thank you~

That sounds like a lovely idea. My sister has a tradition where she takes each of her children to choose their own Christmas decoration each year. I have now started the same with my 21 month old. I'd also be interested to know where to get a lovely Christmas decoration for my baby's 2nd Christmas.

We make our own. I think you probably could get the supplies to do so at any place that craft supplies are sold. To me, it's prettier and more personal if you paint/craft/make the ornament yourself and many of ours have turned out very lovely over the years.

Lane Crawford had some nice "Baby's 1st Christmas" decorations in stock last year, may be worth keeping an eye out in there.

Christmas Tree Ornaments ideas

Hi there,

My biz has the perfect idea for your Christmas ornament. We can make christmas decoration from your baby's hand or footrprint or fingerprint. We have snowman, jingle bell, star and christamas tree pendant. Please visit my website at www.myhappysunflower.com or give me a ring at 95538982. I can come to yours and show you my jewellery line.
Enjoy

Don't know of a website, but there's usually postings on this website and then in HK Magazine I think. The Conrad one is huge and is coming up soon I think!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I`ll try to visit the Lane Crawford store, maybe Sogo or other dept stores would have stuff like that.
haha, might be easier though to get one internationally delivered than to trek out to one of the fairs though. Tsuen wan - nice place to live, unless you want to go to the island.

If you happen to be travelling to or know someone who is, I'd recommend Manila. Drop dead crazy-gorgeous Christmas decorations!

Just in case anyone else was trying to find a baby`s ornament, I have found absolutely NOTHING. I have been to many places. I went to IFC`s Lane Crawford today and their xmas decoration theme this year is `white xmas` and all their ornaments are basically single unglazed ceramic pieces, nothing to do with a baby, and only a small selection. I am disappointed and I am tired. I give up.
Boooooo, HK.

I saw a cute "baby's first christmas" ornament in Elim christian bookstore in Causeway Bay (same building as Sogo, 12th floor East Point centre, old wing?? I think...) - I thought of this thread but didn't remember to post in here after I got home...

Damn you nicolejoy....!!! Now I am going to have to trek to causeway bay...seriously? Argh! :)
Are there any other branches of that bookstore? And if I may ask, is it a Christian ornament? What did it look like?

Shenzhennifer, not sure of the budget, but have you considered Swarovski. They have quite a few Chrissie decorations, some with 2009 on them

I can't remember exactly - but they do have other store locations, the closest to you is in Jordon:

15/F., Sino Cheer Plaza, 23 Jordan Road, Kowloon
(852) 2782 7660

It wasn't "christian" - just generic ornament. It might have been nativity, I can't remember clearly... but it did say "baby's first christmas" - I was thinking of buying it but it's my baby's 2nd christmas so I didn't ;)

I am also looking for clothes or gift that has " baby's first Christmas" or some writing to that effect. Now that a gift seem to be a good idea too.

I couldn't find cloth have that so far in Hongkong (never bother to try in the Mainland). I asked about it on this website and some mothers gave me suggestion where to get it but these places are all in the island which is quite far for us to travel to since we have to go all the way there from that Mainland.

There are so many expat families living in HongKong, one would think there is a market for Christmas gifts in for babies. I understand that it's important that you know where to look. I think I would tried those places suggested here when I make my next trip to HongKong.

Good luck to both of us.

Nicolejoy - thanks for the info. I`ll look into it, though if it were a nativity ornament, I don`t think I would buy it though - looking for something a bit more `secular`:)
Bess - Hmm, that might be worth a look. I will check online and see what they look like, thanks.
carey - Oh, I totally agree with your comment about there being so many expat families in HK, but there is a serious gap in some things, like this. I have asked so many people here, in many shops... but to be honest, I haven`t seen very many nice decorations at all. Mostly cheap-looking stuff that I wouldn`t put on my tree. Ole supermarker in SZ has some beautiful (but expensive) single decorations though. I wish I could go there (visa finished now). Just go to Ole - it will be better than what you will find here, apparently.
