Does anyone have a recent newborn, about one month old, and live around Mid-Levels in Hong Kong and want to chat.

I'd really like to form a newborn support group because I'm going stir-crazy being housebound with the baby. I rarely go out and have not taken baby out because of SARS. I used to have a very active life and it's tough for me to stay in the home all the time. I feel quite isolated every day and especially because most of my friends are single. I can't really talk to them anymore about what's happening in my life.

It'd be great to talk to other new mothers about their experiences and just to give each other some support.

Is there already a newbie support group out there in Hong Kong? If not, would anyone be interested?

Congratulations Bzee! Hope everything went smoothly. Do post some pics of your :lilangel: in the Photo Gallery

I think the only other new mum on the board is Gretchen. You mums should definitely try and get together.

Don't forget you can always post a msg here and we'll be more than happy to help.

The AWA has a brilliant support group... unfortunately most of them have fled town.

I'd look them up and ask them when the new mums group is starting.

Thanks for suggesting AWA, although I've never heard of this organization. I'd be grateful if you have their contact or know how I can get it. Thanks so much.

newbie support

Hi Bzee
I am Yvonne, the organiser of The Matilda Mum and Baby Group and would love to see you there. We usually have around 10 mums and babies travelling from all over HK. The Mums often go off together afterwards and arrange to meet up. I usually give a short talk each week about something baby related (or Mum related) and there's always lots of discussion over coffee and biscuits.
We are starting up again on May 15th (Thursday). Starts at 10ish and lasts until 11:30ish. The cost is $60 a class and it is held in Grenville House which is a building on the right hand side, as you come into The Matilda. If you had your baby at The Matilda then the first visit is free. I hope that we'll get a few Mums as I know lots have left HK and it's very lonely for those who are left.
Hope to see you

Hi Bzee,
I have a one month old little boy and would love to get together sometime. Drop me a message and we will try to organize ourselves!

Thanks Rani for suggesting AWA. I've contacted them also but am not sure if the coordinator is around. I will keep trying. Thanks very much!
