New WHO growth charts

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the new WHO growth charts for just the first year? I have downoaded the one from the WHO website but it covers the first 5 years and I need one with more detail. I'm trying to settle a debate, so need the evidence.

Thanks Bear Lau, checked the website, but they don't have the new WHO charts. The new ones have been produced by the WHO to reflect the growth of breastfed babies, rather than formula fed.

gives you a web page which then lets you choose which type of chart you want:
  • Length/height-for-age
  • Weight-for-age
  • Weight-for-length
  • Weight-for-height
  • Body mass index-for-age (BMI-for-age)
  • Motor development milestones
Then within each chart you have the choice of:
charts or tables, z-scoures or percentiles
for the ages:
  • Birth to 6 months
  • Birth to 2 years
  • 6 months to 2 years
  • 2 to 5 years
  • Birth to 5 years
 
z-scores are a way to convert data from different measurements with different scoring systems into a “universal language”. They are based on the means and standard deviations (SD) of the measurements.

The mean score of a normal distribution is “translated” into a z-score of 0.
The mean plus one SD becomes a z score of +1.
The mean minus one SD becomes a z-score of -1.

(Most weight/height distributions are assumed to be normal when looking at large numbers of measurements.)

You only really need to worry about the z-score charts if you want o compare the charts with other charts with different units and not worry about the units.
