Hi,

We just moved to HK a week ago and hubby is away for 10 days. Any fun activities you can suggest to help pass the time? I am going to check out some classes I have read about on this site, but if there anything else you suggest that would be great. I like to go on an outing a day, if we can manage it.

Thanks much!

You can go to the Westwood down the Belcher's (Kennedy Town), there is a big playroom, cheap for all day long, great for toddlers.
A bit more in the south, there is Ocean Park, you should love it too :)

There is a public playground on Pokfulam Rd nr the Mount Davis Rd junction.

Also, you can go to Cyberport and a open grassy area to have a picnic/kick a ball etc.

Or go to Hong Kong Park?

1)playtown in the westwood as already suggested
2)ocean park
3)stanley
4)take the train to tung chung and then the cable car to the big buddha
5)hong kong park
6)the closest library (don't know where that is)
7)disneyland
8)dim sum at jumbo floating restaurant in aberdeen (my kids LOVE the boat ride)
9) if you aren't up for dim sum, can just take a short marina cruise

10) repulse bay beach
11) get on a tram and sit in the front on the top my kids LOVE getting the tram... get off whereever you like, then get on one going the opposite direction to take you home.

* shek-o beach or Big Wave Bay followed by lunch one of the beachside restaurants
*the large grassy park fronting onto the sea first right after cyberport, in front of Bel-Air
* Sandy Bay (easy walk from Pokfulam)
* Victoria Peak Park (grass and gardens as far as you can go to the top of the peak, great for picnics)
* Top Deck at Jumbo (suggested above) is great as it has a supervised playroom which makes for a restful lunch for parents!

Thanks so much for the input! We will set out on some excursions this week. Does anyone happen to know the best way to get to indoor space in the Belchers complex? Is there bus that drops off near the mall entrance, or is a taxi best?

i would take a taxi the first time, especially since we don't know where exactly you are coming from.
