New moms live in Kowloon station

hi everyone!!

there's a baby expo at Wanchai exhibition centre from this Friday until Sunday. Has anyone been in the past? I like to go maybe on Friday (I assume weekend will be crazy busy) in the morning at 10am when they open. Is anyone interested in going together?

Elsa

Hi Elsa,

I am planning to go as well but I was thinking on Saturday instead since I heard Friday was normally the busiest day. I am open to change the time though and we can go together. On one of the threads here, somebody mentioned lining up for tickets took 45 minutes so I think a lot of people will be lining up on the opening day and at the earliest time. I think around 11:30am perhaps might be better. What do you think? I did look at the programme schedule and Friday appears to be the busiest. Here is the schedule:

hi Diana,

I need to go to Immigration to get a visa stamped on Amelia's passport on Friday, so do you want to go together?
yes, probably a good idea to go later if it is busy at opening time. will call you on Friday morning?

Elsa

hi mommies

sorry have not been turning up on the fridays meetings. Cos my mom jus left HK back to Singapore and i'm handling baby alone (got a helper but she knows nothing about babies). Anyway, yah me too wan to go to the Baby Fair at Wanchai. my hubby's colleagues told him last year she went on a Sat and queued for one and a half hours to get tickets! *faint* But i also saw weather forecast for this entire week is gonna be rain rain rain.

Anyone going on Fri? But i can only go in the afternoon aft my gal's nap.

hi fennho,

I will be going to Wanchai with Diana leaving at 11 15am.
Do you want me to buy your entrance ticket and I can give it to you in Element? What time are you planning to go in the afternoon? Give me a call if by any chance you can join us. 9501 0104. Elsa

Thanks Ruth,
I missed the meeting again cuz I had guests and my Mit was not feeling well. He is ok now, hope to see you guys next Friday. wanna meet moms and all cutty babies :)
Tomo, have a nice trip back home and see you again when you get back.
Elsa and Diana, how's baby expo?
Mook

Hello Mook,

We have been missing you and Mit for the last few weeks :). The Baby Expo was packed but there were lots of things to buy. I got some grobags for this year's winter because they are really cheap (HKD200! original price was HKD325-375!). It took us less than 10 minutes to buy the ticket and get into the entrance so I think we were lucky. I think for Mit's age, there are toys from Fisherprice, Playschool, Stepping Stones at 20-30% off which might be of interest. There are things from Tommy Tippee, Nuk, Suzuran, some educational items like books and CDs, Baby Food, and things are from Eugene that might be of interest as well. For me, it is worth to go because I can buy most of the things in one place.

Hi girls, we missed the gathering of this week, coz we went to expo for shopping! I bought many SUZURAN wet tissue for my baby, and many other stuffs.
Hi Dianna, I bought one box more, there are 8 small boxes. Do you want to have all 8 boxes, or just few? Please let me know, if you don't wanna that much, could share with others moms.
Hi Elsa, Thanks for let me combined the purchase in fisher-price, the invoices are in my home, will pass you next time we meet.
And girls, my friend said she could share some postnatal information with us, how many of you are willing to join? She is the yoga teacher with a toddler.

Looking forward to seeing you all next friday, Hugo misses his little friends too! He got tan in the trip, haha!

Ruth

Hi Tomo,
Hugo and I just came back HK from my hometown, we miss you and your little prince. Enjoy your trip, meet your old friends (just like what I did, haha), and see you soon!

Hi Ruth,

Thanks so much. I can take all if no other moms want it but I don't mind if other moms want some too. Please count me in on the postnatal stuff. Thanks again!

Diana

Hi Diana,
Thanks. too bad we couldn't make it to the expo on Sunday. May be next event, we will check it out.
Ruth,
please count me in for the postnatal thing. I don't have much activities to do since I moved to HK. It would be great if we can share things or join some activities with moms.
Girls,
see you on Friday :)
nite nite,
Mook

Hi girls,
can't wait to see you all again, I've been busy with other things, didn't stay with baby a lot. He sleeps a lot during day time, then wakes up every 4am, makes me so tired........ he needs to go out more!

Hi Diana, would you like to take 6 packs of wet tissue? How do you wanna me to give you? Send me sms, coz I'm going out again.

see ya!
Ruth

Hi girls, Hugo started put everything into his mouth for a while, and I washed his toys almost every day. But I wonder how do I wash those stuffed toy with electronics parts inside? coz I have already messed one, can't laugh any more.
Besides, I washed playmat by washmachine, coz it is quite heave to wash by hands, but stuffed parts seemed to wrong place, and it needs more time to be dry.
Any suggestion on washing baby's stuff?

Hi Ruth,
I wash all the cloths toys such as books and dolls by washing machine. I put all in the net (it's a must). For the plastic one, I wash by hands with mild soap. For the electronic one, I use the soft cloths with water+mild soap clean only the surface of the toys. Then let them dry before using them. For quick clean, I use wet tissue, the baby one :)
Mook

Hi Mook,

Thanks for sharing, about electronics toys, I'm afraid can't rinse off the mild soap by wash surfaces.
Ruth

Ruth,
Sorry it was not clear about cleaning the electronic toys. The first round I use water and just a little bit of mild soap. Actually I use my baby soap, and the cloth must not soak, just damp it. The second round I use only water to clean.

hi there

elsa
thanks for offering, but didnt get to check this cos no time to log on! But we did manage to make it to the Expo. Bought some Johnson wet tissues too and toys and also a photography session for Rylee. Hey, i saw ur response on the LG Playmat...i would love to get one from Korea cos i dont mind paying for the shipping. Do u have any sources? Cos 18mm is not available in Spore.

Mook/Ruthmaomi
Yeah, my gal bites and chews on everything too. But the washing is endless. I jus buy those wet wipes to wipe the toys. and everything else that i foresee her biting.

How's everyone doing?

Hi girls,
My friend Bhakti will come to meet us, to teach us how to do moms and babies yoga. As she needs to show us , maybe we will go one clubhouse of ours, anyone has interesting to join us and any suggestions for place to go?
Please let me know ASAP if you like to join with your baby. She will come friday afternoon.

Ruth

Hi Ruth,
