New Cot Mattress?

We've had our crib mattress for 2 years now, but our son only used it for the first 20 months before transitioning to a bed. We are expecting #2 this fall. Should I get a new mattress for the new baby or is ok to use the one we have? How can u tell if the mattress is not supportive anymore? is it just by feel?

It's generally recommended to have a new mattress for a newborn. I read that you could test the mattress by pushing your hand on it, and if you can see a handprint when you remove your hand, then it is too soft.

I know as well that you should get a new mattress each time and not reuse. But my son also didn't sleep that much on his mattress, plus it is made of coconut and is very hard, so there are no indents. I think, since it travelled from UK to Canada to HK I will make it dependant apon opening the vaccuum bag where the mattress is currently packed in. If it smells good and looks good I reuse otherwise I buy new.
