Need Ultrasound for Suspected Single Umbilical Artery (SUA)

I just had my level 2 ultrasound at 20 weeks in Shenzhen (mainland). The ultrasound tech found that the umbilical cord has only one artery and one vein (so one less artery then normal) or what is refered to as Single Umbilical Artery (SUA) or two vessel umbilical cord. They told me that I should take my records and go to a doctor in Hong Kong for a second ultrasound. At first they told me just to come back in a month when they could check again and get an even more accurate view of the umbilical cord... but about 45 minutes after I left the appointment they called me and told me I should go too Hong Kong now. They couriered my records to my home but then told me this is needed because of a law in Hong Kong that they won't see me after 22 weeks???
To say the least I am reserving my worry until I have gotten a scan from a Doctor with better English skills but that being said... I got very little guidance on where I should go for the scan.
Any recommendations for the best place to get a high level scan and Doctor would be greatly appreciated.

Dr Macor Wan is supposed to have one of the best scanning machines. He's in Central & charges HKD1,000+ per session, you might want to check as I went to him 2 yrs ago. Very busy clinic so be prepared to wait despite having an appt. Best of luck.

Please don't worry too much. Ultrasounds are hard to do correctly and the tech may not be so accurate. And even if he is correct, my firstborn had SUA and she was born few days overdue, close to 7lbs. Her growth was monitored a bit more than normal so we had more ultrasounds during our pregnancy.

Best docs to go to for thorough ultrasounds are - Dr. Macor Wan, Central Diagnostic Clinic and Dr. Alex Doo, The Women's Clinic 2523-3007. The details of both would be here on Geobaby directory.

I like Dr Lam who is at the same offices as Dr Macor Wan. HK Diagnostic Specialists. They are known as having some of the best ultrasound equipment in HK.
 
I am 20 weeks pregnant and I went to Dr Lam. He immediately told me that my baby has SUA. He is however very busy and does not spend to much time with patients, so it does help if you do your own research later.

anyone else who have babies with SUA? would love to hear your experiences

yes i would agree - Dr Lam Yung Hang - he's busy but no nonsense kind of guy...my waits for him have all been under 1 hour...which is pretty impressive for HK doctors - my fastest one was 15mins wait - so it is possible to have a short wait.
