Hello, I need some advice on feeding my baby son of 5 months old.
Since about 2 weeks ago, he refused to take his formula. If we are lucky he may be willing to take 100ml the maximum then stops and cries if we force it on him. Sometimes he simply refuses to open his mouth when he sees the milk bottle! I have heard that some babies do reach a stage which is so-called 'tired-of-milk stage'. I am not surprised if he is tired of his formula as he has been on the same formula for 5 months ~~~
But, he is too young to feed solely on rice cereal / porridge. I did introduce some rice porridge (very small portion) to him about a week ago simply to get him used to the feeling of spoon-feed and to try swallowing. I note that when I put some fresh apple juice in the rice porridge he is very happy to take it.
It makes me wonder if I can add something (something I don't know what) with some flavour (vanilla flavour for instance) into his formula so he may be happy to feed?! Are there anything like that in the market that I can put into the formula? I worry he will lose weight if he only take less than 100ml at each feed.
Thanks.
