Need advice on affordable kindergartens?

Hi there
My son turns 4 in November 2009 and we just moved from the US.
Could anyone please recommend affordable kindergartens that we have a chance of getting into? I know that applications would have been done the end of 2008. thanks for your help.
 
where do you live? we applied for the gov't voucher (anyone with a working/dependent visa can apply). our son goes to kindergarten in a local kindie in sai kung. there are quite a few other western kids in the class and some mixed kids (like my son). although they use chinese for instruction, by the end of the first year, the kids can all understand what is being said. by the end of the second year they start speaking and some are fluent. the teachers all speak english fairly well as well.

the best part... we pay $160HKD/month... yes, you read that right... $160/month!!! that is for a 1/2 day, 5 days per week
 
Ap Lei Chau and English-speaking kid

I live in Ap Lei Chau and my son only speaks English. We'd like him to learn Mandarin. I don't speak Cantonese so I guess the local kindies would be really difficult.
Do you know of anyone who lives in my area who might be able to give me some tips?
 
ap lei chau is way too far. as for local kindie being too difficult... in my son's class of 14 kids, at least 5 of them ar white, another 3-4 are mixed. they all seem to love it there! notices come home in english, so there isn't a problem with that either.

have no idea about ap lei chau though, sorry!
 
I think in Ap Lei Chau, there's Victoria. I think that's more affordable. They have classes in English and Mandarin. You shdould call them up. Also there's Kinder U in Ap Lei Chau as well. I don't know how much is it but they teach English and Mandarin as well. Hope this helps.
