Natural birth after C-section at Public Hospital

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone knows what's the policy in public hospitals in HK regarding women who have had C-sections for thier first deliveries?????

For the second delivery do they insist on a C-secton or do they let one try a natural delivery...???

A friend has now had two babies VBAC at Queen Mary. However, she did say that with her second baby, she was trying to get on with it but medical staff kept suggesting that she should take another c-section - very off-putting but she hung in there.

My friend had a C section in Nethersole Hospital in Chai Wan- only cost under $1000 for the whole 3 day stay plus surgery fee. Pretty good deal considering that her sister went to a private hospital and paid $70 000 for EXACTLY the same thing. Obviously, don't expect any bedside manner and the epidural might not work that well (cos the docs are pretty young and some are still in training), but overall, still worth it having the baby in the public hospital cos if they're any emergencys they can deal with it straight away.
Heard that if there are any problems delivering in Matilda hospital, the ambulance usually takes you straight to Queen Mary, so what 's the point of going private, unless you want the frills of a private room, unlimited baby visiting times and good bedside manners- depends on whether you think it's worth paying an arm and a leg for..
