Native teacher for 20mths old boy

OH! One problem, gotta be honest with you. I am not the typical kind of blonde hair blue eyes NET. I went to school in the States and I could still speak good canto. I am better than a lot of the so-called NET because I have the experience and education (on teaching English) that they don't have.

I am free to meet up for coffee so you can see if you like my teaching style or not =) And no hard feelings if you have a better choice in mind.

Thanks for ur reply. Have discussed with my mum and she concerned if my son can stay with the teacher for say 1 hr. what do u think? Btw, can u pls let me know ur charge per hr? Thanks a lot!!
 
as someone who has taught this age for 18 years, it shouldn't be any problem for the tutor to stay for an hour.... but do NOT expect your child to do "school work"... expect your tutor to teach your child through play! a good tutor knows how to keep kids interested.... if they can't do it, then they aren't the right tutor for your kid.

What is the suitable going rate/hr for an experienced home tutor?

I live a bit far from Tai Koo, but interested to get more information so can find someone in my area.

for an experienced native-english speaking tutor... you are looking at $450-800/hour.

i have been teaching in hong kong for almost 18 years. if i were to go back to teaching privately, i don't think that i would charge less than $600/hour, but that is me. there are others out there who may ask for less.
 
Carang speaks my mind! I have almost 6 years of experience now, so I am charging at the beginning of the range that she suggested. My ex co-workers who have a few more years of experience are charging a few hundreds more. I might charge a little bit more if it takes more than an hour of commute to go to my student's from my place.

Of course there are younger and less experience teachers charging a lower rate.
