I am a Form 6 student who's currently studying in an International School and so, is fully exposed to the English Language since I was small. Hi to all of you. I was wondering what would be a reasonable rate to pay per hour for a native tutor to teach your toddler/preschooler one on one?
A qualified teacher i.e. with a Grad. Cert. in Ed/Early Ed commands a minimum wage of $300/hr with little experience if it's a one to one setting. This fee goes up to $600/hour. Most experienced Native-Speaking English Teachers I know (with credentials and experience) charge about $500/hour.
But there are many uni students/spouses of HK residents/expats out there with the right accent dependent on their education background... and they charge between HKD$150 to $250 (dependent on experience).

Can you tell me your contact number? My child would like to have a 1-hour private class at home on weekday afternoon between 4:30-6:00 pm with 1 or max 2 other kids. We dont need any worksheet or anything, we just need to focus on oral expression in proper English. They are all 6 - K3 students preparing for Primary 1 with pretty OK English. Our place is 15 minute drive from Bel-Air. Thanks,
