Hi... Just wondered how many of your babies still won't be able to sit on his / her own at 7 months old? I'm a bit worried as my 7-1/2 months old still isn't able to sit on his own. I'm not sure whether it's because he has a big head (as his is top of 85% percentile) or not.

Btw, he can flip / roll over but still doesn't want to crawl much.

Any feedback is appreciated!

:thanks

My son who just turned 8 months just learned how to push himself up to a sitting position last week even though he could already crawl and pull himself up to a standing position in his crib. All babies develop at different rates. I was a bit worried, but knew he would do it sooner or later. To practice, I would place him in the sitting position daily which he could hold for a few minutes before crawling again. Not sure if it helped, but I wanted him to know what it felt like.

I would not worry about it though as he will most likely do it by 8 months.

Our son also didnot sit till about 7 months and he was 15 of his group. I bought him a Bumbo chair and he didnt care for it much but then we used to put him in the sitting position and surround him with cushions, initially he used to fall but then he got the idea and within a week he was sitting on his own.

best of luck
