Moms, I BF and feed formula to my 1.5 month old; however, she's wanting to eat more so I find myself increasing her formula intake. Is it possible to increase my milk supply?

yes, mother's milk tea, it takes 2 days for it to work. from Bumps 2 babes. i don't know if they sell it at mothercare. you can also stimulate your breasts by bumping in between feeds.

The more you breastfeed or express, the more milk you will have. She could be going through a growth spurt. As Buckeroo suggested above, try feeding her directly from your breast as often as she wants. Your supply should increase within days.

agree totally with the fenugreek part suggested by Buckeroo, since I would eat fresh fenugreek every meal and had never a problem....it seems you can get pills too for fenugreek intake

I agree completely with the above. Feed your baby directly from the breast whenever she is hungry (when mine was 1-2 months I fed every 1.5 to 2 hours during the day, fortunately she slept some longer stretches at night!), and get some fenugreek as well.

Also, drink plenty of water and eat whenever you are hungry. I even used to snack, eg, a piece of fruit or a yoghurt, after every night feed I was so hungry. And try to rest when you can (I know, easier said than done!)

Drink lot of soup, especailly papaya and fish. It did increase my supply. I find drinking water is not as effective as drinking soup.
There're foods to avoid too: any kind of liver, foi gras, pate, black bean(chinese preserved one), wheat gem.
Also seeing a lactation consultant is helpful too. I hads a lot(really a lot) of blocked ducts and the milk just couldn't come out. She may give you useful tips to increase the supply.
Happy Breast Feeding.
