How much milk should they be taking? My bb started on eating solids (Baby rice + fruit/ veg) at lunch time and she is now reducing her milk intake. How much solids should they be taking? :thanks

Hi,

When my son was 6.5 months he was on 3 solid meals a day. But this is partly because he started on solids at 5.5 months.

Now at seven months he has cereal and yoghurt for b'fast; meat, vege and fruit for lunch and similar for dinner. He has what we eat minus salt, seasonings, sauce etc.

Am breastfeeding so he feeds four times a day. But he isn't always interested in milk everytime.

Hi,

My daughter is 7 months old and had 3 solid feeds and 4 milk feeds a day. Each milk feed is between 6 and 7 fl.oz. She has her final solid feed at 4pm and just milk before bed and this seems to satisfy her hunger.

Introduced solid to baby at around 7 months. Now 8 mths, he has 1 feed of solid at around 7pm and takes around 18 - 22 oz milk (4 feeds) each day. I found that he is taking more milk since he started solid.

When we saw our pediatrician at 7 3/4 months old, our little one was eating 2 solids a day and about 750 ml. of milk. The ped. recommends that at this age, they eat 3 solid meals a day plus about 500 ml. of milk. The milk intake should reduce to about 250 ml. at one year old.
