Married but living seperately, now pregnant with my lover?s child

Hi All,

Ive tried and tried to find solutions and answersbut i couldnt..

Im married but living seperately due to my legal husband and i not happy and both have cheated on each other.. hes now not in the country and will be back after 1 year..

In this span, ive reinkindled with my past boyfriend whom ive known for over a decade, but we just found out we are pregnant.

With no contact and no ways of knowing how to contact my husband for a divorce, im stuck.
My lover and I are both working legally in hk & are both HK perm. residents

1. How do i register in antenatal check ups in public hospitals with my lover?

2. Will my lover and i be able to register our child?s name under both of ours, legally?

3. Any suggestions?

Im worried and scared & i dont know what are my next steps..

Scared of what exactly? What problem solution are you looking for? What is your specific worry?

you are legally working here and have HK perm status so you register your pregnancy asap into the system here before week 12.
See the online form (http://www.fhs.gov.hk/english/doc_br/files/fhs_51.pdf) it clearly allows you to not state the father's name if you don''t wish to. (Please provide other contact person ??? , if you do not want to disclose information about the father of pregnancy.) So list the boyfriend as father upon registration or leave blank. Their main concern is that they have a contact person for you.

Start by getting the pregnancy confirmation letter from your GP or local clinic.

Regarding (2) yes, "Unmarried couples - you will need both parents? Statutory Declaration to confirm the paternity of the child, in addition to your identification documents. Both of you must attend to make a joint request. If only one parent applies. "' - in your case bf and you attend the registration together. It will take less than 30 minutes.

3. Best of luck on your new journey . The above worries will seem as nothing compared with the eventual delivery of your baby.
