Marriage Counsellor

Things are really bad between my husband and I since having children. Does anyone know of a good marriage counsellor?

Thank you Rani. It is difficult when each parent insists on his/her way with the upbringing of the children when both ways are at extreme different ends. Causes a lot of resentment, disharmony at home. I know there are many counsellor out there but finding a good one is not easy. I have been to one before, paid huge fees but nothing came out of it cos she just sits there and listen. I was hoping for a name to go to although this is probably not the right place since it seems to be a happy mothers' site but just don't know where else to ask.

Hi,

How about trying to talk/socialize to other mums and probably get some ideas from there and becoming more positive at the situation. I alwiz believe this works better than going for counselling; in my opinion but i might be wrong.

Hi Mova,

I have a friend who went for counselling and seemed to get pretty good result. I'm not sure if my friend went for marriage counselling or something else. But you might just give them a call to find out more.

I had problems with my husband too after my daughter was born. It has taken quite a while to make compromises on each part and to sort things out, but we weren't so bad that we needed counselling. Luckily, things have gone much better recently. I hope the above info will be useful.

Hi Mova, You should only go for the best: Sharon Glick of St.John's Counselling Service, Tel:2525 7207. She is excellent for both individual and couple counselling - even gets the worst of husbands to continue with counselling. Can treat resulting trouble with kids too. Highly recommendable. In case you are needy, they offer a sliding fee scale. Very fair.:gl:

Mova, forgot to mention: don't be put off by her voice over the phone. She can sound a bit scary but isn't AT ALL. She just got that really low pitch... Hope she can help you - going to the wrong counsellor can make things worse, so try her out first! Hope to read some good news from you soon.:flower:
