We just arrived from Beijing and would like Mandarin playgroups for my 3.5 and 1.5 year old girls.

Hi there, have you found anyone else for this playgroup? We are in central, but my little girl is only 5 mths :) may be slightly young to play w ur kids. However, if you find a group and don't mind younger babies, pls let me know and I would love to join. thanks! Mei

Hi Sheri,
I heard there is a new mandarin playgroup center in central. The classes are very fun and energetic. Think it's called Mandarin Town and they are located in Coda plaza.
 
Hi Sblossom, Sheri - I've got a 5 mth old and would love to join in a Mandarin Playgroup.
At this stage, not looking for a formal, commercial Playgroup as I think she's too young but happy to meet other mums and bubs for an informal playdate.
Am at Shouson Hill but happy to head to mid-levels or anywhere on Southside....I'd be happy to host a few at my place as well if there are mums interested. Do PM me to get things rolling?
 
Hi, I have a 1.5 year old son, I speak mandarin but since my husband doesn't I haven't been good about teaching my son mandarin. I'm trying to get started and would love to have a mandarin playgroup to get him more exposed to it.
 
Hi Hkmom1, like you, my husband doesn't speak Mandarin either and to be honest, my Mandarin's a tad rusty at this point so would love to get a group going to get back in the swing of things.
Where do you live? Perhaps we can meet next week in Central? Sblossom and I have exchanged info - hopefully she'll be able to meet next week. Suggest Mon, Mar 28th, 1030am at IFC?

If any other Mandarin speaking mums are out there, hopefully next Mon works?
 
I live in Causeway Bay but I work full time. Do let me know if you guys end up meeting up on a weekend.
 
Hi tenten, I would love for my son (9 months) to join in your Mandarin group. I myself don't speak very much Mandarin but would really like my son to learn it. I won't be able to meet next Monday as I have to go to a school tour but hopefully another time.
 
hi guys, seems we are all in the same boat, with hubby not speaking, I need to become more disciplained with chinese!.. Tenten, we have our work cut out for us :) hopfully we dont end up speaking English the whole time!! hehehe...
 
Hear hear on the discipline! So difficult not to default to English. So on these playdates, perhaps we can have a Mandarin only rule and anytime someone breaks out in English, it'll be 10 bucks into a charity kitty! I'm sure we'll collect loads in no time!

Ok so Sblossom and I will kick start things on Monday.

Just flagging that Sblossom and I will be with our bubs at IFC's Simply Life tomorrow morning ( Mon, Mar 28) at 1030am to kickstart "Mandarin Mornings".

The more the merrier, so do join us!
 
hey, moms, my son (almost 3y) and I speak mandarin, and my son is very talktive :) we would like to join your group. While my son is not in HK now, we might join you as from your next meeting. For the time, we prefer to meet in the afternoon(as my son is in playgroup in the morning), or Thursday am. please keep me updated for the meeting. look forward to seeing all of you soon!!!
 
Hi tenten & Sblossom, I have a 15months old gal and would like to join ur outings. I speaks mandarin too but both my hubby and myself have been communicating with her on English mainly. Would love to have her being expose to mandarin too :)

When will you all be meeting again? Let me know.. I can make it on all weekdays except thurs afternoon.

Hi Miabella, katffrogatt, Leta, Joycetatntan - Wow, looks like we have the makings of a pretty viable group!

Sblossom and I have gotten together a few times but we've mostly spoken in English sadly. Now that there are more of us, perhaps we can give Mandarin a proper go now.

I'm off for Easter - suggest first week of May? How abt Mandarin Morning on Thurs May 4th, 1030am at IFC's Starbucks.

Let me know if anyone can make this or if a better time slot works ( tricky to get a day/time that works for all ). Hope to meet you all, and any other Mandarin mums out there.
 
Hi tenten, can't make it on Thursday mornings unfortunately we have a mothers group on every Thursday mornings. Any other day of the week is fine.
 
Hello all, sorry 10.30am is kinda tough for us as Ethan has his lunch at 11am so earliest i can be at IFC would be about 12.30pm if its okay?
