Making gift for baby

I don't know the first thing about knitting or professional sewing but I'd love to make something special for my newborn arriving later this year. Maybe something like a quilt, blanket or sweater/hat.

Where can I buy yarn,needles etc.? And what about taking a class...any in the city?

I want to do something that can be a keep-sake.

I got a babygirl last year and also started knitting and sewing. I have a lot of information but one problem it is mainly in dutch but I can try to translate is for you. I really knitted a lot and also sewed a baby blanked. If your are looking for patterns you can also have a go to look on the internet because there are a lot of free patterns for knitting on the internet.

I can't tell you where to go because I am just new in Hong Kong and when I am also wanting to find out where to go to.

I'm still trying to decide what I'm gonna do. Blanket i guess.

Most likely I'll get some patterns in the U.S when I go back in few wks.Tons of craft stores there...so it'll be easier.
