My 11-month old baby badly needs a hair cut, tried calling Toys R' Us for Magic Mirror Salon but they said they don't have a hair salon. Has anyone have the number? or any other salon that you go to for your kids hair cut... Thanks!

never heard of toys r us having a hair salon....ever... where are you from?

do you have a boy or a girl?

we just use clippers for our son and do it at home. have done so since he was 1 year old. at first he hated the clippers, but i just cut his hair yesterday and it took all of 5 minutes. he's 3y7m.

our girl, we've just trimmed her bangs/fringe. She's now 1y7m.

where in hk are you? i know that there are some kids' specialists around...not sure how convenient they are to you, though...

i've read about Magic Hair salon here on geobaby... but the post is actually dated 2005-2006. we live in tst but anywhere is ok.... im not confident enough to cut his hair nor is my hubby, he is turning 1 in few weeks and we dont want to mess his hair up and look awful on his bday party :-)

Hi
The Magic Mirror Lee Garden Salon Number is : 2882 2138.

Infact Jonny from Magic Mirror does home visits for HK$ 250his number is 9108 7428. We use him regularly, he is super with my 3 year old who hates going to the salon for cut.

yeah, we don't go for anything fancy... one setting on the clippers and away we go...

i've tried to let him grow his hair longer, but it's so hot during the summer, that we always end up just clipping it all off anyway.

ps: his daddy gets the same haircut!

thanks so much Jah, i will contact Jonny asap!
carang, maybe when he is a little bit older I will be more brave to do it... i might take some private lessons from u :thanks

i'll tell you the first 5 or 6 times was a nightmare...even at the salon (the first and only time he's been)... it took 3 of us to hold him down and get it done!

Johnny from the Magic Mirror is really good with the little ones. He's been cutting my LO's hair since he was 11 months old. He's patient and good at distracting them. And since it's a home visit, we can put on a DVD which helps a lot.

Hi Portia,

I just tried calling Johnny's number but got a "number does not exist" back. I was wondering if anyone had his number, I have a little one here who is in need of a haircut. The summer is taking its toll and he's developing a little heat rash.

Thank you. Much Appreciated :D

Just try again. The number posted by Jah is correct. I just called him 5 minutes ago and reached him on it.

Mandarin Oriental is offering baby first hair cut special at HK250 now if you are interested. It comes with a package for baby's first haircut keepsake.

I am considering taking my son to Magic Mirror for his first haircut. I just called to try to book an appointment with Johnny (recommended above) but it seems he no longer works there.

Does anybody have another stylist they recommend at Magic Mirror or another salon?

Alternatively, does Johnny still do home visits?

Johnny still does home visits. I think he exclusively does home visits and doesn't work in any salon any more. His mobile number is posted on page 1 of this thread.

The two ladies who cut hair at the Magic Mirror salon are both very good too.
My son HATES having his haircut. Even when he won't sit on one of their animals or watch the DVD's they have there and has to sit on my lap fighting the idea of having a haircut they are still able to get a good clean cut and so far no damage to my son in the process other than a few tears.
They are a bit pricey (even with the weekday discount) but for the fact they do such a good job with my son I can't help but keep taking him back.
My daughter who is 5 loves going too because they will give her the full treatment - wash her hair in a children's version of the adult hair wash basins including the head massage, cut, wash and blow-dry/style.
