Macau for children?

Hello Everyone!

We're considering taking our 2-year-old to Macau for a night or two? Is Macau a place for children? Does anyone have experiences/comments to share on what to do with a toddler and where to stay please?

Thanks so much.

Sara.

hI Sara,
We have been wondering the same thing for our 2 year-old! If you go, please let me know how it was.

I have been to Macau many times as we are typical HK people. I took my 2 daughters there last X'mas for their first trip outside HK. They were 4 and 2.5 at that time. Honestly, there isn't much for babies and kids in Macau as a city of Casinos. As a first trip with parents is ok though. We stayed in Mandarin Oriental last time. We booked a junior suite as we took the maid along. Food is great in Macau - local styled Portuguese food + Chinese shark fins soup....yum yum!

Must go - city is nice and small though! :cheerlead

Sorry for arguing otherwise. Macau needs not be a casino city. I once spent 3 days there with minimal casino exposure. There are A LOT of cultural/historical sites for tourists, esp. if you love to take pictures. My tip is to find a good guide who KNOWS the place. And yes, food is good too. ;)

My 2 yr old enjoyed herself at St Paul's cathedral (lots of birds to play with there), the antique shops nearby, the market streets there too, Coloane village (lots of side streets to wander around, and of course for adults, excellent seafood restaurants), and Westin Resort facilities.
