Does anyone have any opinions on Ma On Shan? We were looking at Villa Rhapsody.
How close is the nearest (english-speaking) hospital?
I am guessing there aren't any international schools?
Thanks!

The nearest hospital would be Prince of Wales. It's a gov't hospital. I had an aunt that was in/out of POW and can assure the care and facilities are good.

Pre-schools right?

we used to live in villa concerto. we loved it. it was close to sai kung and ma on shan shopping centres. the management company was very good and we loved the club house and enironment.
The nearest private hospital should be union hospital and the renaissance college just open and it sounded like a good school.

When I went to ShaTin Junior School and ShaTin College (both ESF schools) there were quite a few kids who use to come from Ma On Shan; a school bus from Ma On Shan to the Junior School or College should take no more than 30 minutes, which is how long it use to take us to get to Tai Po from school everyday.

The Union Hospital is in Tai Wai, which is not far from Ma On Shan.

I live in Ma On Shan. I love this district, in the front is the sea, in the back is the mountain. There is a EFS school at Fo Tan, maybe it will move to Shek Mun.

Yes, pre-schools. We are actually planning a little into the future, but if the waiting list is long probably can't start too soon.
Is Union Hospital any better/worse than POW? I guess I was figuring that the gov't hospital might be a language barrier.

Nice to see all the positive opinions about MOS, we were a little concerned as it is off the beaten path and we won't have a car.

Leungpapamama--Why did you move out?

Our Ma On Shan deal fell through at the last minute. Seems the landlord was delaying us while he wrapped things up with a buyer. We will look in Ma On Shan again in October, but probably in different complexes (Villa Athena, for one).
