We have a 4 month old baby boy. We 've just relocated to HK from Singapore & just moved into belcher. Hoping to get to know more babies , mums , friends in the vicinity. Have fun and hear from you soon...

We have a regular group meeting on Thursday at 4:00 pm of every week at the Starbuck at Cyberport. I think either Rani or Genro will be there.

Hi Chipmama

thanks so much for replying!
how old is your baby?
do you attend the gathering regularly?
do you stay in The Belcher's?
if so, it will be great if we could a cab and go there together

Hi Dal,

I am from Singapore too with a 14+ mth old boy. I have been here for 8 yrs. And I stay near Conduit road, about 10 mins drive from Belchers. Let me know if you plan to go central for walk walk or coffee. Are you working?

Gina

Hi Gina

So happy to hear from you, a fellow Singaporean too!
Wow, 8 years is a long time and I am sure you are very familiar with HK already.

I am not working.
How about yourself?
Are you taking care of your kid or do you have a domestic helper?
I am currently taking care of my baby without any helper and would love to know of places that are baby friendly where I can bring my baby along.

Of course it will be great to meet up for drinks.
Let's arrange soon!

Hi, Dal!

My baby just turned 4 months old on Tuesday of this week. I attended the gathering last week and quite a number of moms were there too. Sorry, i don't stay at Belcher's but I stay in Chi Fu which is just off PokFuLam!

I can't go this week for the gathering so I will see you sometimes next week then if you are planning to go!

Take care,

Maria

Hi mums !

I'm from Singapore too and I've got a baby girl. She turns 6 months today. I have been in HK for almost 2 years. It's tough taking care of a baby with no mum or MIL to help out, not forgetting the air pollution and the rather baby-unfriendly HK.

I've recently got a helper but it's a bit too early to trust her with my baby totally yet. But I do leave the baby with her for about an hour or so while I have my 'time-off'.

Hi Chipmama

May I know if Chi Fu is near The Belcher's?
It would be great if we can meet beforehand to go Cyberport together.

Do the mums bring their babies along for the gathering?
I would love to do so, but provided the rest are doing so, but on the other hand, I am also worried that my baby will fuss when it comes to his nap time...hee...

Hi Pieces74

I share your sentiments regarding the lack of help and air pollution in HK!

My husband and I are also considering whether to hire a full time or part time maid. Just like you, I am also worried to leave my baby alone with the maid. There are just too many instances where I noticed that the maids are busy chatting or smsing on their phones and the kids are left to play on their own.

By the way, do you happen to know of any contact for part time maids?

Heyy Dal -

We are living in Pokfulam Road (10 minutes walking distance from the Belchers) and we have a sweet 5.5 month old baby boy. We have been living in HK for 14 months and it is not too bad - there are really a lot of things you can do with a baby.
If you would like to we could meet sometime next week or the week after.

Hi ChipMama -

Your group meeting in Cyberport, is it open to any mum & baby? I would be interested in joining .... Thanks! ;-)

Hi KUC!!

I am sure they welcome all mums and babies to the gathering, right?

Probably we can arrange to go there together one of the Thur?
Would you be comfortable bringing your baby along?
Do you bring him out often?
My baby recently started to have blocked nose which causes occassional coughing. The doctor advised not to bring him out too often becos of the bad air condition in HK :(

Hi Rani

Thanks for that!
Will try to come along next Thu.
Its every Thu 4pm at Cyberport Starbucks right?

hi all

i'm planning to move to pokfulam victoria gardens soon and would like to meet with moms in the same area. i have a 13month old girl. can i join with your gatherings and how often do you meet?

also, as i'm new to the area, whre is the closest GOOD park n'shop or wellcome to buy fresh fish, meats and good selection of vegs. i checked at cyberport and found it to be so scarce and a really small shop. any thing else to do in pfl other then cyberport?

Thanks!

looking forward to meeting some of you soon

Mammalicous,

Welcome to Pok Fu Lam. The Baguio Villas Park N Shop has a pretty good selection of fresh veggies and meat. There's also a Wellcome Superstore in the Belchers which has a Wet Market and live fish.

stupid question but as i'm totally new to pfl, and i'm a new driver can someone give me detailed directions on how to get there from victoria gdns ? ie left on what road, etc

where might i find the belchers and baguio villa?

also once i'v moved, will your mom/baby group have room for one more?

thanks!

Mammalicious,

The Baguio supermarket is only 5 mins from you. When you exit Victoria Gardens, turn left towards Aberdeen. Drive down Victoria Rd, pass the Sassoon Rd roundabout, drive for 1 min and take the first right down to Lower Baguio. If you pass the Shell station if you've gone to far.

The Belcher's is in the opposite direction. Turn Right onto Victoria Rd. Drive to the end. Turn Right onto the street with the tram tracks. Pass 2 traffic lights you should see a sign for Westwood or the Belcher's. There should be a small blue hotel on your right. You have to turn right onto this street. I think its called Collinson. You should see Westwood shopping center.

The Cyberport coffee is open to all. Pop by once you've settled in. Hope to meet you soon.

Hi Dal,

I am Malaysian Chinese and live in the Belcher's for slightly more than 2 years. My daughter is 22 months old. I know many Belcher's mothers including mothers from Singapore. We sometimes meet up at each other's apartment or playgrounds downstairs or Club House or Pacific Coffee or public indoor playroom. Email me at [email protected] if you need any info about things to do and places to go around Belcher's.

Cheers!
Wee Kean
