Hello
I have a 6 month old baby and have had to recently return to full time employment. I am not satisfied with leaving my baby with my helper and would rather employ a full time western nanny. Can anybody help with an agency?
Many thanks
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

You can try Rent-a-mum on 2523 4868.
They are a lot more expensive than using a DH, but of course you are employing a trained expat professional, so they aren't going to work for free!

There are also these agencies (can google them both for details):

Annerley Midwives
Nanny Experts.

Most of the girls tend to register with a couple of agencies anyway.

When I was looking for our Nanny, I got sent the same CV via 2 agencies (but also different ones from both, so worth calling more than 1). You don't have to pay a fee when registering, only when employing the Nanny.

We've recently been through the process so if can be of any more help let me know
K

Thanks for the help - I will try them all now.

Hi - I was just on the Annerley Midwives website but it doesnt seem to offer a nanny service - did I miss something on the website?

i was just wondering, how much do these nannies charge? what are their working hours? and how are they qualified?

Joannek, the rates vary depending on age and number of children, and time of day worked.
You can set hours of work to whatever you need, and they can be live in or live out.

I can't speak for Nanny Experts, but Rent a mum's Nannies have a wide variety of qualifications, including maternity nurses, Norland trained nannies ( the nannies uses in the UK by the royal family ).
I myself worked for them for 6 years and have an early childhood degree. (though now I have my my own child and no longer work for them).

sound quite attractive, if the price is right... so for a newborn, live in, how much would it be? or 2 year old girl, live in? so do we sign contracts, say for 6 mths or 1 year, like that?

Joannek, whether you signed a contact would depend on the situation. If they were sourced from overseas for you, and were working fulltime, you would have to sponsor their visa, and would need to sign a contract.
If they already live in HK, and were only required for part time or for short term placement, then no.

The price would again depend, would it be for a few nights? Or months? Do you need a maternity nurse that is on call 24hrs and does everything or someone to assist you during the day?
If you email Rentamum, they can send you a current price table. [email protected]
