I am looking for a dermatologist who is specialist in a child skin problems. my 18 month old son developed rashes all over the body and lately having dandruffs on his hair. Can anyone suggest any dermatologist pls.
I better warn you, it is usually really difficult to get an appointment fast as she treats so many tai tais AND their husbands! When you talk to the nurse just stress that your son is so young and is in agony and that it is a very urgent case. They do keep appointments free for such cases and I've got an appointment within two days when I've rung up and begged!
Slee, wish I had known to do the begging part, because when I called, they wanted to wait about 2-3 months to give my son an appointment, and when I told them that he's in agony over the itch, they referred me to another dermatologist in Admiralty.
That is so typical of them. Getting a GP referral with 'urgent' written all over it has helped before as well. Not only has bugging/begging worked but when I have eventually got into the system they've offered me second bookings in no time at all (in my case to have a mole removed via minor surgery) so they do have room in the schedule - where there's a will there's a way really applies to them.
She only started really concentrating on the cosmetic side a year or so ago, which if her waiting list is anything to go by was a good move. I see her her psoriasis, acne and melanoma and she's been the best I've ever had. I've had psoriasis since the age of 7 so have seen a lot of dermatologists. If Dr ku is good and easier to get an appointment with then try him/her. Dr Ho defintiely knows what she's doing with things that don't involve lasers etc though.
