Let down & Medela SNS

Hi,
I'm having trouble getting the "let down". My baby won't wait for it in the afternoons and I can't seem to get it at all at night. I know I need to "relax" etc but this has been going on for 5 days now.
I'm about to give up...but then thought I could try the Supplemental Nursing System....
If my boy can get some milk while we wait for the let down..then I think I can keep him at the breast...
Does anyone know where I can buy one? I think its a Medela brand? Are these easy enough to use?
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks everyone

The SNS is easy to use but I prefer a simple tube into a bottle, the way Dr. Jack Newman describes in his web site at http://www.breastfeedingonline.com/newman.shtml
Look under the heading, At-Breast Supplementer
There is a handout and also a video to show you how to use it.

I find this easier to use than the SNS especially if you get a long tube.

The SNS is made by Medela and so all the Celki shops will sell them. I get my tubes from the hospital. You can either contact me on 2548-7636 or [email protected] or contact a hospital and ask for Infant Feeding Tube, FG/CH5 (17 mm), 105cm

Have you tried breastfeeding laying down as this often helps you relax and so gets the let-down to work more quickly?

How old is your baby? You may want to have your positioning and latch assessed by a lactation consultant or LLL leader. The better the latch the more milk the baby gets and so is less likely to get frustrated.

Best wishes,
SARAH
