Just about all over the counter medicines are fine while you are breastfeeding.
I?m sorry but I don?t know exactly what is in lemsip.
I know that it contains paracetamol and this has a lactation risk of L1 = safest (Drug which has been taken by a large number of breastfeeding mothers without any observed increase in adverse effects in the infant.)
Does lemsip have a decongestant in it?
Decongestants are not recommended for breastfeeding mothers ? not because the drug affects the baby ? but rather because a decongestant dries up your body secretions and this includes breast milk. Some mothers have found that they get quite a large drop in supply while taking them.
