leaking pampers

I use pampers and they leak quite often at the top on the backside. My baby is completely breastfed so it's pretty runny.

I've tried one size up and they are really big.

I tried newborn Fitti brand when she was first born which seemed to work the best. But I've been using up the Pampers packs that were given to me as gifts so I haven't tried the size small FIttis. Also, the Fittis aren't always in stock.

Has this happened to anyone else and then you switched to a brand that worked?

maybe i should try huggies? or fittis again?

I've tried many different brands and found the leaking problem happens the most with pampers, especially the thin kind. My baby is 6kg and the pampers ultra slim is way too small for her. huggies small is also a bit small and too thick and hot. tried a few pieces of Doremi (got given by a friend) and it was not bad. tried a sample of Mamy Poko medium and it fitted quite well. fitti medium fits her the best so far.

at the moment I'm in japan on vacation. got a pack of Merries medium and it is FANTASTIC! the elastic on the waistline is just awesome! too bad they don't sell it in hk.

Cristle,

We used Fittis too. They're available in ParkNShop + Wellcome. I've always seen loads on the shelves. Maybe you can order online.

Jessie - Sasa/Bonjour sell Japanese diapers. Not sure which brands.

I use Mamy Poko at night and Merries in the day. After changing diaper brands at least 10 times, I finally realized that the leaks were due to drinking too much milk at night and not the diaper! =) But just for your information, it seems that of all the ones I tried, Mamy Poko and Merries seem to hold the most pee. I also use a diaper cover over the diaper just to be extra cautious. Hope this helps!

rani: thx! i know they sell doremi but not sure about merries. will check out the stores later.

nanzbier: where do you get merries in hk?

christle, i had the same problem w/ pampers. they were also too stuffy, & baby bump was constantly red. i tried all the brands available in hk. finally i settled with sealer (japanese brand), available at mannings & eugene (cheaper). but w/ sealer cos it's very breathable, once baby wee wee, u can already smell it thru her pants. or u can try nepia, which is also quite good,at parknshop (cheaper) & eugene.

Hi Joannek!

I go to HK quite often and if you don't think it's too odd, I can pick you up a bag or two or however many you'd like. I've introduced this diaper to several of my friends here and they all love it! Maybe try a bag first and see how you like it. =)

I tried Nepia as well because someone told me that it is pretty leak-free. It still leaked at night....but thats probably cuz my daughter drinking too much. I think Nepia is quite nice as well...it has a very nice fit and also similar to Merries but not as soft. But I can't get Nepia here in Dongguan...so I'll stick with the Merries. =)

hi nanzbier, i'm switching my baby to pull-up by nepia (the orange colored packing). cos i need to start potty training her. are merries pull -ups?

ugh! They leaked again at the top. She was fine actually until i laid her on her back to change her diaper, and then it just spilled out the top of the back! So then it wrecked her clothes. I usually have two sets of clothes with me because of this.

The pee is held well, but not the runny breastmilk poos. I am going to see if the Merries you suggest are anywhere here. I wonder if those are at Eugene Club? I was given all my packs of pampers as gifts. Seems such a shame to waste them.

It is as if she needs some elastic at the waist. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Hi Cristletips,

My daughter's diapers always leaked at night! I started putting on a diaper cover and since then she hasn't leaked out. I believe you can get this at Eugene or Mothercare. IS your daughter on the chubby side? Mine is and I think thats why she leaks...that or she's just drinking way too much milk! hahah...
I was just at Eugene looking for Nepia diapers (hahaha!) and I didn't see Merries diapers there.
I'd be glad to bring Merries over to HK for your Cristletips. Just let me know the weight of your child and size she wears currently. It's so funny because I usually go into HK to get everything for my daughter and I mean EVERYTHING from organic veggies/fruits to snacks and just about everything else. It sort of makes me feel good that at least we can get some decent diapers here! =) I should be in HK some time next week...

Hi Joannek,
Are the Nepia pull ups any good? I am using pampers/Huggies pull ups but they are expensive.

i find it A LOT better than the huggies & pampers. my girl is very chubby, so the huggies/pampers are not soft enough & don't mold her well, and the sides seem to dig into her skin. the nepia is cotton like & very soft. you can go to eugene, i think they have a sample for you to touch. but eugene is most expensive. bonjour (the beauty shop) is the cheapest ($68 for 30), PNS is doing a promo $69.9 for 30.

oh, and thank God... i thought i was the only one struggling w/ leaky poo & bringing several sets of clothes & 2 diaper pads to go out!! ha ha ha.

Thanks nanzbier!

My daughter is on the small side actually, and she leaks when she does a poo which is during the day. ANd its an explosion!!!

I do actually put a diaper cover on her too. A cotton one. But usually as soon as i lay her down, it leaks right down the back going all over her back.

She is 6.8kg right now. So i put her in the small pampers (which leak) and i have those mediums at home too (which also leak up the back). I bought Mamy Poko last night but she never had the explosion poo today so i didnt get to test them!!!!

I'll be happy to meet up with you, and let me know if there is anything to pick up for you! I'm in Sai Kung and our pharmacy here has a lot. Even had the goats formula cheaper than city super. I am a member of Eugene too so if you need something let me know. I can meet you next week if you come to HK!

Great Exchange!

Hi Crystaltips!

I'd be happy to get it for you...=) There is actually something I'd like to try...which is th Nepia pullups that everyone is talking about. Maybe we can do an exchange and work out the cost difference? I'm not too sure where Saikung area is, but I usually go to either Time Square area, Central area, or Ocean Terminal. My email is: [email protected]

Cheers,

Nancy
