Lactation Consultant & Illuma for Newborn

Hi, As my due date is approaching, wonder if any of you can recommend lactaction consultants that you have recently used?

I am also thinking of feeding my newborn Illuma at night - hoping it is most similar to mother's milk - wonder if any of you have tried this formula with your newborn?

Thanks!

Mrs. Chee is a great lactation consultant. She helped me a lot with getting milk production up & baby latched properly. Her number is: 9417-6366

Most brands of formula have similar ingredients (regardless of price) and are in no way similar to breast milk. Unfortunately, breast milk cannot be replicated, as the factors in breast milk can't be dried nor canned.

As for lactation consultants, Sarah Hung from Lotus is great, and very experienced:

Good luck and all the best with the arrival of your little one..

Nothing wrong with formula but they're all pretty similar, one isn't more like breastmilk than another. Like anything some babies will get on with one brand more than another, some will get on with whatever they're given.

I'd give the lactation consultant a call and talk through what you want to achieve, personally I wouldn't go into breastfeeding with the aim not to do it at night as this could affect supply and your ability to get breastfeeding established. You'll be up during the night whether you're breast or bottle feeding, it's just something mothers do.

I believe Annerley has a lactation consultant, I've always found them very helpful.

Good luck.

Thank you ALL for your feedback.
I will give these lactation consultants a call and figure out from there; I keep hearing & reading good things about Mrs. Chee and will give her a try first.
And I need to have newborn formula on-hand just in case.

I ended up using Sarah Hung and her fee is as posted on lotus lactation. Her prenatal + 2 visits - one I used in hospital and another at home - are helpful and encouraging. I must say though that 100% BF was not an easy path.
