Do you know any good playgroup for my 6-month old baby? I like Kindermusik @ Catherine very much. Yet, Central is just too far away for me. Do you know any Kindermusik at Ma On Shan / Shatin / Tai Wai / Kowloon Tong or actually along the MTR?:thanks

Tseung Kwan O

I went for one with my LO at Tseung Kwan O, above Hang Hau MTR station to be more specific. If you are interested, I can pm you the contacts of the instructor.

There's one in Kid's Gallery in Kowloon Tong. Their number is 2337 1001. Their new class is starting on Mon, 19 May. You should go and check it out.

Hi do they hv any trial classes available?any mommies going in june or july?my girl's 5.5months oni......

ppmum,

I totally agreed Kindermusik @ Catherine is great; my daughter use to do her classes in Central but it was too far to travel so we joined the classes in Kowloon Tong.
You should try Kids gallery at Kowloon Tong. Catherine runs her classes at Kids Gallery on Mondays. As wwong68 mentioned, the summer term started next monday (till 30 June) then there will be a summer break and re-opens in Sept.

weishy,

FYI, a majority of playgroups held at private centres have trial classes. Usually, you're allowed to book 1 trial class. Once you done, they will ask you if you want to continue the class or not. if yes, you will pay for the whole semester otherwise you only pay for that lesson. Depending where you go, classes range $100 - $200 per lesson.

Hi, Kindermusik have classes at Chinese University, for the young baby like yours, they've a class every thursday at 3:15 pm , call Jessica at 25184840

thank you. I am going to join the Kids Gallery at Kowloon Tong. I hope Catherine can actually come and teach the classes. Many people say she's great. During the summer break, I am still thinking if I will join the classes, the Sing & Sign and Kindermusik Village, in Central. Yet, since I live in Tai Wai, it's really far for me to go there.

ppmum,
I don't think Catherine teaches at Kowloon Tong cause we are attending one of the morning classes and it is run one of her teacher named Kim. I heard Catherine teaches some of her classes but I don't know when & where but you could always call up Central to find out. BTW, I was looking at the latest issue of their newspaper and saw they also run classes in the Chinese University.

My daughter is three days to her 7-month bd. Is it good to take her to the kindermusik classes? What do they normally do in the classess for kids like my daughter's age?

I've heard Catherine will be teaching many classes next term., call her studio in Central. Like dolphinyp said it's 25184840

yes - my daughter started just about 7months...depends on each kid though, some may like it others not so...my daughter and her cousin LOVED teacher Kim and we are going to Central just to take her classes starting Jan.

for kindermusik, do they change the theme every semester? or else, i'll be attending the same thing over and over again for the next few semester?

they have different themes for different sessions so you shouldn't be doing the same thing over and over again...though I must say the teacher makes the BIGGEST difference and not really the songs, because how they present it makes a difference to whether or not your child will enjoy it...my daughter still enjoys listening to the CD she got last year and doesn't like the "new" CD from this session....having said that familiarity is also good because the kids "don't really know" the songs the first time around....Teacher Kim is excellent by the way! :)

I agree that the teacher makes all the difference. We used to attend classes at Club Sienna when we lived in DB. Since moving to Kowloon, we attend the classes at Kids Gallery in Kowloon Tong and Kim is GREAT! She makes it really fun and stimulating for the the child and adult.

yes ,, jo bowd and lesliefu are rights.. teacher does make a lot of difference. i attended catherine's class at central and i must say, she is very professional and has passion for her job.. we enjoyed.. not just my girl, in fact, i enjoyed her class very much.. and jaclyn is also very good. these ppl believe in the importance of music in young children and i am so glad to have attended their class.
there are kindermusik classes everywhere.. but should always try to get a trial class. i tried one, well , the instructor was not very professional, even not well versed with the lyrics.. highly qualifed but gave me the impression like she feels she is 'wasting time with young children'..
central is far for me, but good instructors make traveling worthwhile.. .
