Kindergartens in Ma On Shan

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with Think International Kindergarten, Greenfield Int?l Kindergarten, Wellborn Anglo-Chinese Kindergarten, Boxhill Kindergarten and ESF Wu Kai Sha?

My girls have been offered a place with Boxhill for K1 next year. Today they had an interview with Wellborn which went well I think. I like the environment (big playground, nice organic farm) and the size of the school (probably the biggest Kindergarten in MOS), although the location is not convenient as we live near Sunshine City.

Boxhill looks good, teachers look nice and the size of the school is alright, yet again location is not the best.

We will have another interview at Greenfield. Personally I don?t like this school, the equipment, furniture such as the chairs are very rusty. My girls are attending their playgroup there but don?t really enjoy going as the class is quite boring, same programme week after week (same snack which is raisin bun every week!).

They also go to the playgroup at Think which they very much enjoy. The teacher miss Lokie is very cheerful and nice, all kids love her!

I would like my girls to be able to speak English and Cantonese. Although I have heard lots of good things about ESF. Myself I was raised in Europe so I like the teaching method there, kids learn through play and activities.

Hope anyone can share his/her experience with me. Any information would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance mommies and daddies.

Cheers

Hi Wendy,

Just saw your post now. My daughter will also be starting K1 this coming September and she received an offer at Boxhill. We should also hear back from ESF WKS sometime next week as well.

My daughter has been going to ESF WKS playgroup for almost a year now and overall the experience has been great so far. The playgroup teachers (who are teaching assistants for Kindergarten) do seem to have good teaching personalities - patient, friendly, and proactive. Students work on a different arts and crafts project each session and there seems to thoughts put in so that they get to experience different kind of tools/materials each time.

Given the positive experience, I think WKS's K1 should be equally good (fingers crossed). And we want our daughter to be fluent in English and Cantonese as well.

I supposed you live in MOS as well? Would you be interested in meeting up for playdate sometime? Quite difficult to find MOS mommies and daddies in this group.

Hi Idy,

Thanks for your response! Indeed we also live in Mos.

Meanwhile my twin girls have been offered a place at Think, Wellborn and Greenfield as well.

Unfortunately we didn?t attend the ESF play visit 2wks ago as both of them were sick that day. Luckily we will get another interview in March. They have been going to ESF playgroup term 2 (every Thur) , just enrolled them in term 3 which starts this wk. What day does your girl have playgroup? Maybe we already met? My girls? teacher is miss Indra. Very nice lady , they love her!

Hope your girl gets a place offered by ESF :)

Cheers
