Hi,

I need to have statutory declaration witnessed by a Justice of Peace. Does anyone know where I can find an Australian JP in HK?

Doubtful you'd find an Australian one here in HK. In any case a JP usually cannot exercise authority outside their jurisdiction

A solicitor, a commissioner for oaths and a notary public, as well as a JP, can witness a statutory declaration in HK, which should be acceptable to the Australian authorities, though you'd have to check.

hi you can get things notarized at the Wanchai District Council office. I have had things done there and its a free service. Phone them on 2575 2477.

Thanks, all. I ended up going to the Consulate (which required a fee for the signature) but I sure will check the Wanchai district office next time for the free service!
