July-Sept 08 - prenatal breastfeeding class 12 july?

i took the libery and asked LLL Sarah if she could run a course for us if I got a small group together. She has agreed and nominated 12 July as a possible date.

Can everyone be free at 1pm? and then we go for scones around 3.30? I hope you dont mind, I said we would treat her the scones!

Hi Trace

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it on the 12th which will open up a spot - we have something on that afternoon (or maybe baby will have arrived - hahahahaha!!)

Thanks for organising though :) You'll all have to pass on your tips to me at the next scones!

Hi Tracey,

If there is still room, Louise (whom some of you met a couple of months ago) is interested in coming along. She is due the same week as us.

Let me know....

Cheers,

Rach

Dear Tracey,

Saturday 12th July at 1:00 pm is fine for me.

I suggest that we use my home as the venue as I need to have a TV to show you slides and videos.

I live in Mid-levels and it will be quite easy for you to leave for afternoon tea in Central.

Please send me your e-mail address and I'll send details of how to get to my place.

The class usually lasts about three hours.

Best wishes,
SARAH

Hi there,

I would be interested in coming along too!

Can you let me know what venue?

Many thanks...
Wendy

Ladies,

Sarah can fit a maximum of 8 people in her apartment for the course.

So far there is Katrina, Rach, Sarah, Sarah, Radical mum, Louise, Wendy and myself.

Sarah advised that the course is $500 so can everyone please rsvp with her DIRECTLY as to their interest so she has final numbers. If you can do this by say, Tuesday - this could be great for her.

Sarah can then send you map directly as well. If you want your hubby to attend, you will have to let her know as well. Thanks ladies.

Please see email below.:

Dear Tracey, Will all the husbands be attending too? My settee can only comfortably manage about 8 people but we can use the dinning chairs too - but advanced warning to set up is a good idea.

I'm attaching a file explaining how to get to my place. Our building doesn't have any parking but I'm happy to break in the middle to let people reload the meters. There are parking meters available on Babington Path and Lyttelton Road.

The class costs $500 per mother - the fathers are free.

Best wishes,SARAH

COURSE CONTENT LADIES:

Private Prenatal Class

A Breastfeeding Class in the Comfort of Your Own Home
$500 per couple

This class covers the important points to get breastfeeding off to a good start. The contents include:

* Breastfeeding advantages
* What to do and why in the first few days
* Good positioning
* Good latching
* Hunger Cues
* When the milk supply increases
* How to know if baby is getting enough
* False alarms
* Potential problems
* Out and about with baby
* Expressing
* Where to get support

The cost of the class is $500, which is for two – the mother and a supporter. We feel that it is very important that a breastfeeding mother has support from an informed family member.

The class can be conducted either at your home or at the home of a leader.

The cost of the class also includes a copy of LLLI’s book The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. The book covers all normal situations that a new breastfeeding mother is likely to encounter and some special situations too.

Hi Tracey,
Louise here - thanks so much for organising this - it sounds great. Can I just ask if anyone else is bringing husbands/partners? I'd quite like my husband to come along but he might get a bit freaked out if he's the only man there! Also, what's Sarah's e-mail address to reply to her directly?
Thanks

Hi Louise,

I'm pretty sure Sarah (duejuly) is bring her husband along - I am trying to get Robin out of work as well!
