Hi sisters,

ART tecnique including IVF in HK is the most advanced in Asia, but the information channael to infertile cople is poor that many local patients don't know how to find the appropricate centers and doctors to help them. Sometimes, they waste a lot of time on diagnosis and unproper treatments in general physicians. In fact, the infertility treatment is one of the subspecialty in O & G that some O & G need to get the training or practical accreditation to become reproductive specialist in HK. After the checking with the centers hotline enquiry, we have the following preliminary information as follows:

HK Sanatorium around 50% HKD70-80K
Union around 35% HKD60-75K
Victory ART around 36% HKD60-80K
Prolivfic ART around 45% HKD60-75K

Definitely, the success rate figure is not everything because the infertility treatment contains a lot of variables. The most important thing is to improve the patient recognition to local infertility treatment performance and processes, because time is very importent to infertile couples and they need to konw the options in treatment pathway.

Dear IVF Helper

This is helpful. My husband and I just moved to HK a month ago. Before that, we have done a lot of tests in the past 2 years. It took us 3 specialists until we found a good IVF clinic to work with. We tried a few rounds of IUI in the US but they were unsuccessful. We would like to find an IVF clinic in HK to continue our progress and we are ready to move on to IVF treatments. We've started our search and feel quite lost.
Do you have any advise for us? Thanks!
 
One thing to bear in mind in relation to the success rates is that these may vary depending upon the type of patients the clinic is willing to take on. A clinic that only takes patients who are under 35 might be expected to have a higher success rate than a clinic that accepts over 40s. Before I relied too much on the success rates I would want to know the policies in place at the clinic. Otherwise the success rate percentages are skewed in favour of the clinics who don't take on the "tougher" cases.
 
I cannot agree more with what you said sherwes. We are meeting with Dr Derek Lo's office tomorrow to see how we like it. Have also scheduled an appointment with Dr P C Lo of QMH in Feb. I guess we need to trust our guts and go with who we feel comfortable with. Will probably try to schedule an appointment with a famous Chinese herbal doctor in CWB.
 
I had my IVF with dr Doo in the Women's clinic and I think he is really good. The procedure itself was done in Sanatorium - their embryologists have a very high rates of embryo survival. I'm pregnant now after a frozen cycle.Good luck everyone it really can work!
BTW most IVF specialist I have seen advise against using Chinese herbs during the procedure - something to do with drug ineractions.

Love to have more info on your successful IVF procedures. Kindly advise me the procedure. My husband and I are considering IVF and i really want to have as much detail as i can before i go for it. I am 36 now and really worry about if i can get successful on this procedure.

these are boards that talk about infertility, different ivf protocols, etc.

do you know your infertility diagnosis? do you ovulate regularly? are your cycles regular? your age, is not classified as "advanced maternal"..which is good. science can do a lot for you these days.
