Hi all
I am sara new member of geobaby. actually i was searchig some information abt ivf than i foud this site, this is very gud site d people like me. I been here for 2 years and trying for baby for 4 year before i was in india.Now doc suggest me ivf bt it is very expensive, i cnt afford this. I read some pre post of geobaby related ivf i foun some gud doc in hk bt very expensive can anyone help me out wht shd i do.I heard abt Queeny marry bt i dont know they wil take my case or not how to enter. I am very depressed dont know anything, I m loosing my hope, help me thanku
 
Hi Sara,
You are right IVF is very expensive not just in HK but everywhere else in the world if you go to a private clinic/hospital. If you have an HKID you can call Queen Mary and enquire about your options. It will not be free but much cheaper than getting treatment done at a private establishment. I would also suggest looking at options in India, which will be more affordable than here. Don't lose heart and keep trying to find a way, PM me if you need someone to talk to :)

I don't think there is any way the Govt can help you in terms of financial aid. But anyways you can check up with QM staff when you call them. FYI when I was visiting Tsan Yuk Hospital last year for my prenatal appointments I met a lady there who had successfully undergone IVF at QM and she told me it cost her HK$16,000 for the entire process.
 
oh dear geomum I m surprised that the entire cost of IVF only $16000. I m very happy to know that. It is so cheaper than the other cost I found.anyway thanku very much for ur support. my best wishes are always wid u.god bless u.

India will be cheaper. If u have family back home it will be much easier as it can be very depressing treatment especially if u are all alone here. Best of luck

I went through 2 IUI and 2 IVF unsuccesfully in Taiwan ( my home country ) It cost a lot - the average cost in HKG $ per IVF was about $40 000 + then the cost of travelling etc must still be added on.

I see here you talk about QM hospital and that you need a HK ID to get the service. I have a HKG ID but not permanent yet - only been here two years. So my question is do you need a permanent ID - ie have been here 7 years? Or can I try them?

I haven't spoken to any doctors here yet - what are the costs roughly if you do it privately here?

i don't think it matters if you have a permanent id or not. but there is a waiting list of 2-3 years if you decide to go the QM route. so its best to do it privately.

thanks. What is the average cost privately in HKG. If it is substantially more than Taiwan I guess I will go back there. But I feel I should try somewhere else!
