IUI success?

We just had our first IUI today - can anyone share their success? Would love to hear your story.

Thanks Mish

Hi All,

I think, IUI success rates depend on the history (what kind of problems you and your hubby are facing). We had two IUI with no success before we changed to ICSI. The second ICSI turned out into success and we are now expecting our first son. We are seeing Derek Lo who did the ICSI (second one which was a success), Charges depend on the treatment, we paid around 70K, but IUI will be of course cheaper.

Good luck all and never give up faith.

Luca

Thanks Luca and Coolgirl for your luck wishes. It's been hard to keep the faith!! We're with Dr Lo as well and he's been very positive and lovely - but I am worried about how I will cope if/when it doesn't work. Cool girl I've sent you a PM on the charges.

Luca - appreciate you sharing your success with ICSI, it's good to know we have options if this doesn't work.

thank you. MIsh.

Faint lines...

I thought I'd just let you supportive geobaby members know that after having my first IUI on 30 September with Dr Lo, and after a harrowing 2ww...

I took a test on Tuesday...and saw the faintest second line you ever. I took two more tests that gave me the same results. I rang the doctor and the nurse told me to test again a couple of days later to see if a stronger result would emerge (otherwise she said may be risk of chemical preg).

I tested again this morning - the positive line is much stronger...

I am cautiously optomistic... and I thought those who are thinking of trying IUI with Dr Lo might like to know.

xoxo

wow that's fantastic news! Hi Mish L, would you please let me know the IUI charges of Dr. Lo? I am thinking of seeing him.

Hi all,

I also did my IUI on 14th, wed, and now it's the long long 2ww. Currently feeling not so well, like a cold, but i really hope it will work this time(1st time).

Congrats MishL, so happy for you, hope i get the same result when i test in 2 weeks time!!! :) hehe

Hkiegal - best of luck, I am thinking of you and sending baby dust your way! When will you be testing?

Coolgirl - I don't think there are any do's or don't's that are particularly useful...In fact, I went straight back to work after the procedure. Luckily it was a public holiday the next day and I just relaxed then. I trawled the internet and the common wisdom seems to be that people take it easy after the procedure. I did that too - I'm usually very active, running and going to gym, but I put all that on hold for the two weeks and just did some walking. I figured it couldn't do any harm to relax a little, and might do some good. But who knows whether any of that helped?

Anyway - the positive is still positive. I'm having a scan next week to look for a heartbeat...now I'm paranoid about miscarriage but I guess there's nothing I can do!!

Thinking of you all - Mish L xoxo

I will be testing tomorrow morning, hope it's a BFP!!!

I am not too prarnoid about this whole thing, haven't really been thinking about it, as have a lot going on the past month. (we are moving to singapore in 2 months, after having lived in shanghai for over 8 yrs for me and my hubby)

MishL, not sure if you are still on this thread?

I am also thinking of seeing Dr Derek Lo. What are his charges for each IUI procedure? Appreciate if you can send me a private msg please. Thanks.
