IUI at Dr Milton Leong

Hubby and I have tried timed intercourse for the past 12 months and had no success so far. We went to see Dr. Leong and found out that hubby's mortility rate is below average, at below 50% as compared to the norm of over 60%. Doctor recommended IUI and we have done it. Another week before we would know the outcome. But was wondering whether we should switch doctors. Dr. Leong is definitely very famous and reputable, but he seems to be in a rush all the time.

Does anyone have a similar experience? What is the success rate?:thanks

Agree. I went for IUI then IVF with Dr Leong. He's always in a hurry + extreme extended waiting despite appointment made + he was late for my first IUI and my first IVF which made me v v anxious and did not help in conceiving + I suspect he used a new drug on me (without my consent) and caused me not having any eggs despite 2 weeks of drug/needles administration.

You get the picture what I feel/think of him.

Despite multiple IVF, I did not conceive. I decided to give up and then I got pregnant. The lack of concern and care from the doctor created a lot of anxiety and the feeling you were just a walking $$ definitely did not help getting conceived.

Not agree.

I found that Dr. Leong is a caring person but I also have to admit that the waiting time for his appointment is too long.

I did 3 IUIs five years ago and the last time was successfully conceived and my hubby and I have a beautiful and healthy baby boy.

We decided to have a second child and we did the IUI again in May and just one time try I am now pregnant again!

Jen 17, you just need to stay relaxed, getting nervous will not do any good to your body, I totally trust Dr. Leong for his profesionalism.

I'm 4 months pregnant after my first IVF attempt with Dr Tay. He's the best dr I've ever been to. Very patient, sincere and he never rushes us during consultations. Even has time to share some jokes. He's fully booked until the end of the year so be quick to make an appt if you're interested.

I've been to another dr for IUI twice (all failed) and had similar experience as CEMILY. I was so disappointed and it took me 2 years to recover from the "nightmare". Finally gather enough courage to go to Dr Tay and I'm glad we did that.

Agree with W2BMOM and CEMILY.

It is interesting to find out that many people in this geobaby site is consulting Miton Leung. As if there are no other fertility Specialist in HK.

Perharps, it is because he is well-know for he is the head of IVF centre. But watch out he is in fact, not as focus on clinical stuff as when he was younger, he has diverse interest in teaching and management too. This is in fact a minus.

What CEMILY said of his late arrival in treatment, this is really unprofessional and have no respect for patients. This single false alone can cause failure in treatment.

I also see both Dr. Tay and Dr Miton Leong. I highly recommeded doctor Tay too. Reasons are similar to W2BMOM, so i m not going to repeat here. After you see Dr. Tay, i bet you will never wanna go back to Dr. Leung again.

Thank you for all the advise. I have been waiting for at least 45 minutes each time I see Dr. Leong and he only sees you for like a few minutes. He doesnt seem to let you ask many questions. He only tells you what to do and does not explain anything in depth.

I have googled him and see that he is active in lecturing and management at IVF center at Sanitorium. Still think he is professional but does not respect patients.

Not sure whether I should continue to see him....

I'm so happy to be able to share my success story and to be able to help another person. I sure hope you will agree with us here once you meet Dr Tay personally. Below is his address and tel. no. One thing to note though is his nurses. Don't be "discouraged" when you speak to his nurses as they tend to sound a bit rushed and not too friendly but as you get to know them, they're actually pretty caring and nice people. I hope you get an appt very soon! Below is his address and contact no.

I wish you all the best and hope to hear some good news from you soon!!:flower:

Jen 17,

In addition to what W2BMOM said. You may also need to "wait" when you go to the appointment too(15 mins - 1hr) . But don't be upset.
It is probably because Dr. Tay will not "rush" any patient out.(Not because he squeeze in too many patients.) When you get to see him, you will never feel rush and he will explain everything to you in details and give u as much time as you need to ask questions too.

Wish you all the best.

Hey! Ruby06

"Give me 5"! We seem to be on the same "wavelength" :yeah2

One thing to add is, although the waiting time is sometimes long, somehow we feel happy to wait right? The atmosphere remains relaxed even then. Perhaps it's because we know we are being treated fairly unlike in some clinics I've been to, some patients seem to receive more attention than others.

I am new here in Geobaby, the reason why I am here is we went through IVF just last month and found out on 4th July that I was not conceived, the pain is still raw but we want to try this again. We were with Queen Mary, costs us HK$60000 just for my part, hubby has very low counts so doc told us to go into IVF. Our doc was Dr. Ernest Ng, he's got good manners and time for us, but I was not conceived, so God knows.

Heard from others that HK Sanitorium is good, and I got from everyone on this that either Dr Leong or Dr Tay. Thanks to W2BMOM, I have just made an appointment with Dr Tay on 14 Nov, before I do this, can anyone tell me more about Dr Tay. I guess the 1st time really freak us out.

Is the US any better? We are from US, so if this don't work out here, we might want to do this in the US.

I went to see dr leong, waited for 2.5 hr, he spent 5 mins telling me he's old and rich and can't help me. I paid $2,500 for nothing. Not even a check up.

I am still trying but want a decent doctor who would listen to me and give good advise and not rush me out of the door consider I waited for 2.5 hr with appointment.
