Hi mommies,

Please help. What is the market rate for ISF debentures and is it worth it? What are the chances of my son getting into ISF without a debenture? Your experiences welcomed!
 
To evgreen - don't feel too bad for him, chances are, that guy bought the debenture when it cost "only" $3M, and has made some money! :P
 
Charade with a debenture you can "jump the queue". However, your child does have to pass the school's admission test first.

People will buy debentures and keep them until their child is ready for school. It is a bit of risk, but at the same time debentures appreciate and you can make a fair bit of money if you end selling it.
 
look at it this way - my son has passed cdnis interview and is on waitlist. there are EIGHY THREE kids on waitlist. if we had a debenture, we would get priority and probably get in.

How old is your child?
My understanding is that ISF has spaces available above P3 and above; if you are applying for those grades a debenture wont help you at all.
 
why would anyone buy a debenture? i guess... cuz it's gotten impossible to get into int'l schools in hk, and as a parent, we'd do anything to improve our kids' chances... also cuz immersion is hot right now.
