Is the air Clearwater Bay cleaner?

Hi there

We are considering to move to Clearwater Bay for the cleaner air and bigger space. I'm wondering if the air is really cleaner there? Are there any husbands who're working in Central/Kowloon station? How is the commuting like? My DH is concerned that he wont be able to see/play with my gal (who sleeps at 8pm) cos if we stay there, by the time he knocks off from work and return home, it's probably close to her bedtime (or past)

Any comments?

honestly, the air isn't much different, i live even further out and although it is slightly better, it isn't great.

what is FANTASTIC is the space. although, if you don't drive you may find it a little isolating in clearwater bay. you might be happier in sai kung, itself.

if hubby finishes work at 6pm, he'll be home by 7ish. not too bad.

I live in Clearwater Bay and love it here - to me it does seem a little less polluted. My husband works near Kennedy Town - he drives, he leaves home early and it takes him around 25 - 30 mins and sometimes longer on the way home.
Public transport is good and we are 7 mins away from MTR station in Hang Hau - it then takes around 20 mins on the MTR to Central. Not too bad..
Hope this helps.

cwbmum
which part of cwb are u staying at? I kinda like Silverstrand area. Is it nice?

i used to live in the same village as where cwbmum lives, albeit i lived there 14 years ago, long before the mtr in hang hau...

silverstrand seems ok, but again, you are MUCH more isolated than you would be closer to sai kung. if you are a stay-at-home mum who doesn't drive, you may not like clearwater bay much.

ha yeung village. it's about 5-6 minutes past silverstrand.

if you have a car, then it's a great area!

the little "mall" at silverstrand doesn't have much worthwhile except a decent park'n'shop.

when i lived there, the developments in tseung kwan o were new. now they call that mtr station "hang hau" ~before it was all just TKO. there is a decent shopping centre there, too. a little less expensive than elements.

thanks carang

when u say "decent park n shop" i hope it means the shop stocks decent fresh fruits/veg/meat?

it has a fairly good selection of western foods is what i mean.
if you are in silverstrand, though, there is a large TASTE not far away in Hang Hau
